I’ll see him on Monday. Was it a 40 yard screamer or a 1 yard bundle over the line.

Nae sure. I’m still limiting travel right now, so made do with the Sooth Stand rather than the Kessock Kop yesterday. My friend Stan (not the Slade hit) bides in Dingwall and sneaked into Merkinch surreptitiously, probably with false papers and a basic smattering of Heelan patois, and texted me at 16.37 to relay the glad tidings. Things are picking up under Craig Ewan.

The boy looked good against Grantown Jags last week.

Next week - Lossie at home where a win will open up a bit of daylight between the Maroons and our opponents and other strugglers, or St Perth at Pittodrie to witness the final straw (in well-wrapped cylindrical bales, no doubt) for one-season wonder ‘Lucky’ Callum Davidson?

“It’s a tricky one, right enough”.

For info: Maroons already ahead in the 3rd minute through a James Brownie goal, and three minutes later, “the young ginger striker” picked up a pass on the edge of the box and rolled the ball past Davie Dey into the far corner.

Turriff deserved something from that, but when your luck’s out…
Maroons two ahead in the first seven minutes. James Brownie and then young Tough. Turriff struggled for about twenty minutes then were the better team for much of the rest of the game, dealing with the state of the pitch (rutted, dubby, Proper Mannies’ February Highland League) far better than Keith. After they scored, sub ex-Maroon Matty McDonald should have equalised but hit the bar, before Mooney made it fast with one last thing. 3-1, yaas etc.
That takes Keith up to tenth, a lofty placing difficult to imagine at the beginning of the season. Turriff now second bottom.

Matty sitting in the dugout in a daze. Subbed after a clash of heids with Niz.

I’ll give him a break and not pick him for darts tomorrow.

Tin hat time I guess might get some pelters for this one but hey ho here goes.

Congratulations to Buckie Thistle for setting a new Highland League record at the weekend with their 4-0 win at Deveronvale being their 21st consecutive win.
21 straight wins on the bounce, that's a fair achievement, well done to all involved.

What I know about highland league football you could write on the back of a stamp, but I will say 21 straight wins at any level is a remarkable achievement. They must have a decent manager?
