On this year's form we're relegation fodder. Maybe NCFCOG can run the stats. 2023 is going to be a struggle. I'm going back to bed with a hot toddy, best I can do at my age though as with Notts I would have hoped for better.

See you next year in Tier 6.

Look what happened to Man City yesterday.
Exactly, bloody hell you'd think it was a disaster. Yes we should have won but Wrexham aren't going to win every game from now till the end of the season so we need to make sure we take advantage when they do. Plus we've got to play them at theirs. There's a long way to go yet, maybe another season we might have had a poor run but don't feel that under LW at all.

Oldham we’re much much better than they were on Boxing Day, it would be hard not to be really, but we were still the better team and we’re undone by an absolute clanger at the back and a dubious penalty from a nothing ball into the box. We aren’t getting torn apart at the back but when those early direct balls are played into the opposition target men we do look vulnerable…especially because we like to ply a high press and it leaves us short at the back sometimes.

I’m not sure Palmer and Bostock worked very well, though that’s not why we didn’t win. Thought Cameron did ok at LWB, though not as good as I think he could be there. I dunno, certainly jo time to panic and get negative about team selections etc. LW has a small squad of players and has got his rotations pretty much spot on so far.

Not the best way to start the new year, but we may well have lost that in times past. Wrexham and Chesterfield are strong but so are we, it is just important to bounce back with three points next Saturday, which isn’t a ‘gimme’ by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully Ruben will have come around from whatever he was suffering with today too.
Bostock is not as good as JOB. He is another one who prefers to pass back and side ways. He is no improvement on what we already have.

It seems Chicksen was left out through LW not wanting him to go from 0-90mph as LW put it, so not tinkering for tinkering's sake. I am suprised TAR was not given the LWB role as moving Cameron to LWB gave us an unbalanced look in my opinion. Bostock may be a player for home games at the moment, where we are not as heavily pressed, as he looked a little slow in possession at times.
Oldham may be bottom five, but not down to their home form. Today was so frustrating and seemed a much worse result than it was, because we are in such a dogfight with Wrexham for top spot.

So to be a more balanced side you wanted us to play 2 right footed wing backs?
Cameron did ok at LWB. Went past his man a couple of times. He put some decent crosses in, particularly after Langstaff went off.
Don’t get me wrong, I prefer him at LCB but until we get in a left footed wing back as cover he isn’t the worse option.

If you’re going to say ‘with a few exceptions’ then the same applies to Notts!

Well, you can't win every game. Though it's not disappointing to give away two soft goals, it's not a disaster. And on to the next....

I thought the first half was our downfall today. Although from a purists' point of view, you might say we were a class above, it was too slow and easy. We needed to have a go at them with some tempo. Had we scored 1 or 2, they would have collapsed, particularly with the added pressure from their own fans.

The second half was just disappointing to give them two gifts. Their first was from our corner!

Special mention for engineering progress over the last 100 years - they don't build stands like that anymore! The view of the pitch was obstructed from pretty much everywhere!
