The difference is that Swindon had that talentless lump Smith up front and we had Mr Magic. We would have lost that game last season and I think we would also have lost it if Jatta had started. The team was the sum of its parts today and it was classic smash and grab. Overall a poor game, Swindon lack impact in the final third Notts have that bit of magic and woo hoo we can finally defend.
I believe we only had late bids for one of our players from what I hear
Didn't see any evidence of sulking at all
Swindon were doubling up on Jones so he had to adjust his game to deal with it
Dan was working hard throughout but Swindon tried to close him down whenever he had the ball
It's great to see our defensive unit working so hard for each other. Night and day compared to last season

I’m actually glad we won ugly.
It’s the one thing we’ve lacked since returning to league 2.
We’d go into away games already knowing we have to score 3 just to stand a chance of getting anything, and still often didn’t!
A good defence contributes just as much to a result as a good attack, and it looks like we now have one.

This was nice from one of the Spurs sites about Abbott.

In just eight minutes plus stoppage time, the midfielder registered; one interception, one tackle, one chance created, and a 1/1 ground duel won, as he helped his new side get the win over the line.
    ...
Finally, at the end of the game, there was a lovely moment. The aforementioned goalscoring hero David McGoldrick convinced a clearly shy Abbott to go over to the away end. A little reluctantly, he went over and gave three fist clenches in tune with the atmosphere they were creating in the away end. No doubt whatsoever that that moment made Abbott feel 10 feet tall, and it was a class bit of leadership from a very experienced pro in McGoldrick.

I disagree with the defeat will haunt them. Wasn’t that sort of game at all. Bass played well looked comfortable but he was hardly called upon to make lots of saves. Can’t remember the woodwork saving us or any refereeing decisions going massively in our favour.
Don't be silly, he'd just criticise the team for not winning when playing well.

    Proper agenda with this one.

SM mentioned how the small the pitch is it at Swindon compared to ML which would have made Swindons impressive pressing game much easier to carry out.

Be interesting to see if they can do the same in the return game on a much wider pitch

If you count the Dover expunged defeat (which wasn't discounted until deep into that season) then we haven't had a better 4 game start to the season since Keith Curle collected 9 points from the first 12 in 2012/13.

I have an agenda for feeling the recruitment hasn't been as effective as it could have been and that we played poorly yet won yesterday? Even though most people agree we played poorly? 😂

Not only a top player , but he seems modest, intelligent and a loveable guy , the kind off person you run through brick walls for. Start having the conversation now gents !x
I wholeheartedly agree with every word of your post. Didzy is a fine example and role model of what one of our own is and should be. He is someone for those in the clubs youth system and younger players in the squad to look up to and respect as to what can be achieved in the game. HeÂ’s been there and done it all at every professional level. It could almost be like the role Alan Smith had when he was a player coach. This would be a good fit especially if Didzy feels he is still able to offer something on the pitch beyond this season if his body and stats are still where they need to be by next summer.

He already seems to be doing it
Seems to be very involved in the warm ups and when he sub he's often on the sideline shouting instructions or encouragement

Just looked it up. Yeah their pitch is 101 x 64m. Meadow Lane is a colossal 104m x 70m.. that’s a fair old chunk of distance.
