So the window closing date is rapidly approaching and there is no word on further additions. I’m not convinced that JG is happy to go with what we’ve got but I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that nothing is happening until Poppadom, well, just gets the phuck away.

Last week JG was interviewed and said the Niskanen exit has created a budget to get another body in.
So if that is true, WTAF, prior to the Niskanen sale there was no budget to bring anyone in.

Very worrying and Ogren seems to have learned nothing.

Rumours that this one body might be Michael Smith.
Would strengthen our defensive and midfield options but if Moult gets injured we're left with no striker.
Not definitely against Smith but we need at least two not just one.

Seems to be wishful thinking that we'd sign more than one player. In an ideal world we're probably 2 strikers short at the moment but I guess Watt and McLeod can play there if required. I'll not be surprised if JG prioritises midfield to be honest. For the most part it's the most critical area of the team.

IIRC there was a time when JG was talking about one or two more, maybe raising expectations on the 2. Now he's talking one.

Signing Smith would allow Grimshaw to move forward strengthening the midfield like you say. But if Moult gets injured Watt and MacLeod aren't the answer.

Yeah I totally agree, we are definitely short up front. I doubt we'll sign a striker but you never know. 🤞
