1-0 France, Umtiti header, a powerful header that gave Courtois no chance. It's been an entertaining game so far with both Mbappe and Hazard causing the opposition plenty of problems. Lloris has been on top form so far in my opinion with a top draw save in the first half.

One thing France aren't doing it trying to sit on their lead, they are going for it.

It will take a good performance for whoever faces France in the final. Mbappe is something else and it's hard to believe he is only nineteen, but if you're good enough, age doesn't matter.

Without wishing to be unpatriotic or pre-empting the result of tonight's match, I'd be very surprised if anyone other than France wins the World Cup in this competition.

They look the real deal don't they, and last nights game probably should've been the final? I think we might well win tonight but beating France in the final is unlikely, having said that.......

A great start and what a free-kick from Trippier, 1-0. Come on England!

A good half for England, 1-0 could easily have been two or three with the chances for Kane and Lingard. Only the one save for Pickford, the only worry really was the casual passing at the back and the clearance from Pickford at the end of the half.

I know it has now become almost a cliche, but what the hell is Sterling doing on the patch. His first touch is crap, he can't pass strait, all he is doing is tangling the play up in front of goal.

    Is it just me?

I think he's a threat with his pace, he is causing Lovren and Croatia defenders a lot of problems. His passing leaves a lot to be desired, but he is a danger.

Sorry mate, I think it is. I am fed up with people slagging him off who can't understand what he does. Nothing personal you understand, but you did ask.

Wokes, I fully understand the hard work he does making runs and getting in space but if he can't use the ball to effect when he gets it it aint much use is it! Let's face it, for long periods of the game the plan seemed to be wack it up the middle for Kane and he nocks it on for Sterling. On the day it patentley didn't work for the above reasons. He just should have been subbed earlier is all. He wasn't the only underperforming player in the team, he was just at the "sharp end" that's all.

In the end we where found out. The team worked hard and with a lot of endeavor but in the end our lack of a world class midfield player was our downfall, we don't have our own Modric or Racatic unfortunately no true playmaker.

Just have to hope Croatia beat France on Sunday now!
