I had the sometimes questionable benefit of meeting junior doctors, many from overseas, just starting their training in the NHS. They came to the UK because of the value of having the label 'trained in the NHS'. Almost all said that when qualified that they would return to their country of origin. When I met them, usually each year, one by one they would tell me they have decided to settle in the UK - why - because they preferred the lifestyle compared to what they would be going back to in their homeland.
This country has taken generations to build to the various levels of lifestyle we have today. In most cases it's been down to a lot of hard work, study, making sacrifices; yes, and quite rarely, good fortune.
Why do some arrive in this country and expect benefits to be handed to them? Why don't some of our overseas residents put the expertise they have gained in the UK to good use in their home country; for heavens sake, many of them need the skills they train for here.
The old adage of 'when in Rome do as the Romans do' applies. I'm very sure that if I kicked off in Saudi, China, North Korea, I would be shown the proverbial door pdq. If you were born here and still don't like it, then do something about it democratically. We have an imperfect democracy but this is how it is - take it or leave it.
I did and it was the best decision I ever made apart from no Notts but even that is now partially fixed with the internet.

Coventry fans ‘celebrating’ their promotion last night. What a great bunch they are.

Can you imagine your son going to a football match and being spat at. I have more reason than most to hate them

I do think it's possible to be racist through ignorance if that's what you mean. I believe i've been guilty of that in the past too. Acknowledging that and being prepared to learn and move on is what makes us grow as human beings.

I've watched the video a few people have posted with Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Lil Wayne and Anthony Mackie too and it's interesting with some valid points. But the things that need pointing out about it are:
    - It's been edited together from longer interviews with each person so some context of their conversations is removed
    - It's been edited as a piece of propaganda by a channel that describes itself as "an online media platform designed to broadcast conservative values"
    - The people in it are very successful black people and their opinions cannot be seen to represent all black people
    - I'm not sure the views in it even represent the current views of the people in it. Morgan Freeman, Lil Wayne and Anthony Mackie have all been tweeting or re-tweeting in support of #BlackLivesMatter over the last week.
Maybe because those interviews don't suit your narrative but a-ho, whatever. On another thread, you said "not being to see the wood for the trees" , a saying (and I'm not denying I might have used myself) I've always hated. For me, it's just someone with a different opinion

I would recommend last night's Dark Horse podcast for anyone interested in an articulate and careful argument as to why it may be wise to view some of the more militant elements of this protest with suspicion.

For those who think the Black Lives Matters could have done things differently, here’s how public opinion has changed on the subject in the last couple of weeks.
What do the numbers on the y-axis represent? Maybe it got cropped when you copied it.
