The United Nations Human Rights Council is voted 24-9 Thursday to permanently investigate Israel for war crimes and called for an embargo against it.

"Today's shameful decision is yet another example of the UN Human Rights Council's blatant anti-Israel obsession," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said as he slashed out at the UNHRC in response.

"Once again, an immoral automatic majority at the Council whitewashes a genocidal terrorist organization that deliberately targets Israeli civilians while turning Gaza's civilians into human shields.
"This while depicting as the "guilty party" a democracy acting legitimately to protect its citizens from thousands of indiscriminate rocket attacks. This travesty makes a mockery of international law and encourages terrorists worldwide," he said.

In the debate that proceeded the vote, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michele Bachelet warned that Israeli actions may already constitute "war crimes."

She agreed that Hamas caused deaths and injuries in southern Israel and that its "rockets are indiscriminate and fail to distinguish between military and civilian objects, and their use, thereby, constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law." Such violation included Hamas launch of the rockets from civilian areas, she said.
"However, the actions of one party do not absolve the other from its obligations under international law," Bachelet explained, nor did she accuse of Hamas of potential war crimes.
Bachelet cast doubt on Israel's claim that the buildings it destroyed in Gaza were Hamas targets, explaining that "we have not seen evidence in this regard."

She added, "there is no doubt that Israel has the right to defend its citizens and residents. However, Palestinians have rights too. The same rights."

Its a pity ,there are other acts of violence, which you do not see.

4,000 Palestinians killed in Syria. 17,000 Civilians killed in Yemen 20,000 Kurds killed by Turkey
ONE MILLION Uyghur Muslims facing genocide in China.

If it's only 80 civilians killed in Gaza (due to Israel taking out Hamas Terrorists) that get you fired up, then maybe you've been influenced by Jew hatred?

Anti-semitism is alive and well in this country Balan, the Left thrive on it, they claim they're just anti-zionist, but they would say that wouldn't they.

Also UN rights chief: Israeli strikes in Gaza may be war crimes
Michelle Bachelet opens special UN session to discuss the plight faced by Palestinians by claiming Israeli strikes in Gaza 'raise concerns of Israel’s compliance with distinction and proportionality under international humanitarian law'

    'proportionality' ???

UNHRC creates permanent Israeli war crimes probe following Gaza Op, calls for arms embargo
Following Operation Guardian of the Walls against Gaza terrorist groups, for the first time ever the UNHRC has created a permanent fact-finding mission regarding a UN member state.

What a crazy world this is!

The United Nations Human Rights Council voted 24-9 Thursday to launch an permanent investigation against Israel for alleged war crimes, including during the recent war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and called for an arms embargo against the Jewish state.

We defend ourselves and its a war crime??

There was some media centre in Gaza that Hamas had shacked up in, the IDF gave the journos plenty of warning to get their arses out as the Israeli Air Force would be paying a visit sooner rather than later. The building was subsequently levelled without any casualties, the journos claimed this was a 'war crime'.

That's the mentality of the lefty activists masquerading as journalists these days. They wouldn't have found employment at the Beano back in the day. Billy's Weekly Liar maybe, but not the Beano.

Israel's operation against Hamas was the world's first AI war. The IDF used artificial intelligence and supercomputing during the last conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“For the first time, artificial intelligence was a key component and power multiplier in fighting the enemy,” an IDF Intelligence Corps senior officer said. “This is a first-of-its-kind campaign for the IDF. We implemented new methods of operation and used technological developments that were a force multiplier for the entire IDF.”

In the years prior to the fighting – the IDF established an advanced AI technological platform that centralized all data on terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip onto one system that enabled the analysis and extraction of the intelligence. Soldiers in Unit 8200, an Intelligence Corps elite unit, pioneered algorithms and code that led to several new programs called “Alchemist,” “Gospel” and “Depth of Wisdom,” which were developed and used during the fighting.

Collecting data using signal intelligence (SIGINT), visual intelligence (VISINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), geographical intelligence (GEOINT) and more, the IDF has mountains of raw data that must be combed through to find the key pieces necessary to carry out a strike. “Gospel” used AI to generate recommendations for troops in the research division of Military Intelligence, which used them to produce quality targets and then passed them on to the IAF to strike.

While the IDF had gathered thousands of targets in the densely populated coastal enclave over the past two years, hundreds were gathered in real time, including missile launchers that were aimed at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The military believes using AI helped shorten the length of the fighting, having been effective and quick in gathering targets using super-cognition.

The IDF carried out hundreds of strikes against Hamas and PIJ, including rocket launchers, rocket manufacturing, production and storage sites, military intelligence offices, drones, commanders’ residences and Hamas’s naval commando unit. Israel has destroyed most of the naval commando unit’s infrastructure and weaponry, including several autonomous GPS-guided submarines that can carry 30 kg. of explosives. IDF Unit 9900’s satellites that have gathered GEOINT over the years. They were able to automatically detect changes in terrain in real time so that during the operation, the military was able to detect launching positions and hit them after firing.

For example, Unit 9900 troops using satellite imagery were able to detect 14 rocket launchers that were located next to a school.

The IDF also killed more than 150 PIJ and Hamas operatives, many of them considered senior commanders or irreplaceable in their roles, especially those who led the research and development of the missile projects.

I really love how you sanction death without a trial Balan. Even Eichmann managed a trial before we hung him. Arbitrary killing by A1 - whatever next?

We were talking about anti-semitism Balan, look who our national broadcaster, the BBC, employs to cover the Israel/Palestine issue.

"The BBC is still investigating one of its journalists almost one week after it emerged she had tweeted ‘Hitler was right’. Tala Halawa, who is based in the West Bank city of Ramallah, is the ‘Palestine specialist’ for BBC Monitoring and was part of the reporting team which covered the recent fighting between Israel and Hamas and the reactions to the conflict. As The Spectator reported last Sunday, watchdog group Honest Reporting and a number of British Jews who campaign against antisemitism uncovered a series of tweets and Facebook posts from Halawa.

These included assertions such as ‘Israel is more Nazi than Hitler’ and ‘Hitler was right’, as well as the pronouncement that ‘ur media is controlled by ur zionist government’. On Facebook, she posted a meme advocating the ‘transportation’ of Israel to the United States to end ‘foreign interference’ in the Middle East. This is the same image that got Labour MP Naz Shah suspended in 2016. In addition to this, she tweeted that 'Zionists can't get enough of our blood' and that ‘they're are crying the holocaust every single moment but they're practicing it every single moment as well’. Another post featured an image of a child being burned on top of a menorah, the Jewish religious candelabrum.

The BBC confirmed it was investigating the posts on Sunday, though was keen to stress that they predated Halawa’s employment with the Corporation. They did, by three years, though why the BBC thinks hiring her after she declared ‘Hitler was right’ (and then appointing her to cover Israel and the Palestinians) is a mitigating factor isn’t clear."

Like I said Balan, anti-semitism is alive and well here, and embedded in supposedly neutral organisations like the BBC, which of course, along with it's propaganda arm The Grauniad, is where Lefties like BT get their 'trusted' information from.
