yeah Neislon thing didnt work out. As for Watt not starting, his best stuff at motherwell came when he was on the left and linked up with the No.9, so that meant Watt starting instead of Inni ?

Agree with most that Watt not starting was a head scratcher but I would have started him with McNulty and had Niskanen on the bench as I thought we played better as soon as Niskanen went off. In saying that though there's no way a player(McNulty) should be playing the full game after being out for 3 months, he should have been hooked on the hour mark or before. Niskanen has been underwhelming to say the least.

I’d have kept niskanen on ahead of mcnulty, niskanen is at least a recognized winger and has a bit of physicality about him. We ended up with watt on left wing and Clark in midfield, 3 center forwards and two out of position. We were better second half but only in part because we showed more urgency and we were flooding the pitch with attackers because we’d Got ourselves in a terrible position and had to take risks, rather than any tactical master plan.

St mirren hadn’t won in 12 before tonight and we made them look miles better than us first half. I don’t think we’d have beat anyone in the league last night spending 45 mins around your own 18 yard box trying to play out the back with the full backs not providing outlets. Bizarre decision to start Nielsen ahead of freeman.

Niskanen has been underwhelming agree after a positive start. that has coincided with fuchs, levitt and harkes not performing then missing through injury and clark and pawlett continually being picked. what our youth have to do to get a start is beyond me. Id play Watt and McNulty up top

To be fair to Fuchs he has been one of our best up until the last few games but when you're carrying the likes of Harkes and Pawlett you are eventually going to drop off.
They are at best a 1 game in 5 performer and need told.

Our constant sideways passing in defence says volumes, they don't trust anyone to play it to because it comes straight back with interest

Whoever our goalie may be, in front of him I would have Freeman Edwards Mulgrew and McCann.
I would love a midfield of Fuchs, Glass, Levitt and Mochrie.
Watt in between them and a decent strong forward which we lack.

Keep the best of the rest as impacts and sell the proven dross.
Frees up dough to recruit a forward or 2 and potential central defenders, meanwhile look to get game time into Neilson and the like as we need to be thinking of future cover in defence.

    Simples really
