I was one of the ones moaning during the game. Obviously the pressure did not bring out the best in me.


However, some of my complaints aren't unfounded. we continue to move the ball around our end with great risk. A better finishing team goes up 2-0 before we even have a shot on goal. Game over. Really that simple. I really don't understand what we gain by square and back passing deep in our defensive end. we also went 15 minutes without a completed through pass to our forwards. At that point the ball was heavily played to our right side by Watford (for obvious reason). I really can't figure out why we don't play Strujik and Cooper at our CB's. They are physical and solid. Cooper is prone to foul a bit but we are much better with him than without. Llorente and to some degree Ayling fouled almost every time they were beat (which is most of the time) in the first half. Not really much skill to foul someone everytime you can't stop them. That's LG 1 stuff.

Since I'm ranting I'll finish it off. I don't like backs that are "soft". Llorente and Koch are soft. The refs not going to call everything so when a back is soft and gets pushed off the ball with no call the other team can, and does score, so they are not effective. Just the reality of the position. Kind of like playing a 5ft tall keeper.

You don't see the best teams in the prem playing soft and dainty center backs. It's not an area that we need to be an innovator in.

My other beef mentioned was throw ins. We seem incapable of throwing the ball in more than 5 feet away. This is even the case when we are deep in our defensive end. It's often a turnover resulting in a high quality chance for the attacking team. Not advocating launching it every time but If I can throw a ball 20 yards in the air (at 61) someone on our team ought to be able to do it occasionally. Don't be so predictable.

we are much better than a month ago but why not go for really good instead of just better.
