It was a strange move in my opinion. Forest Green Rovers have surely hit their glass ceiling in League One, so exactly what does IB expect to achieve there? At the moment it looks like he's trying to play his pretty football with players who aren't good enough in a league that doesn't let you get away with it. FGR will need to roll up their sleeves and battle to survive, but he isn't the manager you would pick to do that!

If they stay up and he survives, the move cements him as a L1 manager with every chance to move up the pyramid in good time. He would've been absolutely insane to turn the opportunity down if he thought there was a decent chance he could hold it together up there.

My personal opinion is, he was overrated, and if Neil Ardley wasn’t replaced with him when it happened we would have achieved more in the play offs. A massive mistake by the brothers.

Agree… they should never have replaced Ardley with Burch. It was an utter wasted season.
