This coming from the poster who said Birrighitti is the better one of the keepers. Think you also said we wouldn't go down. Is reality, not your thing?

Indeed. Let's not pretend Tam's football was good. We were absolutely sh*te.

    Yeah, I agree with that.

it wasn't just the goals the clown let in, it was the goals scored due to defenders dithering and getting caught on the ball as they had no confidence in giving the ball back to him. There is no doubt in my mind that he was at least partly responsible for the deterioration in Edwards form this season.

I would expect you have a we thought towards me when you wrote that, and the majority of my post match reactions i accept you are correct in that assumption. However, there is no way on this fecking earth that i go to any game wanting to be miserable for any length of time, but some of the performances we have been subjected to since i joined this forum have been so far below what i consider to be Dundee United Standard. I expect a large number of those with over 40 years support are like myself, and i expect like myself they go because of their love of Dundee United!

I may have lost hope about our chances of survival after our January window, but i went as much as i could since then in the hope that the corner was about to be turned. While i was keeping the faith, my father and my son both found that other hobby you talked of somewhere, but i talked them into coming back and now have doubts they will be back next season!

Ive said it before and i will say it again that when i spend in excess of £60 for the 3 of us to go, i want my team to win, but i want to be entertained, and if that leads to the odd defeat, i will accept that if i see a group of players fighting and entertaining. I have however not near enough seen us anywhere near entertained for 3 or 4 seasons now to the extent that the fight totally disappeared, and look where we are now!

Me being a fussy basket is not what got us here though!

Pretty much where I am. I know I was spoiled by our golden years but I am realistic & just think whats dished up nowadays by most teams is nowhere good enough or acceptable. Players are paid a fortune & we have all the latest tech & staff but the end product is way worse. As for being entertained by good football well thats gone for good it looks like

At mid January I definitely didn't think we'd go down, had just been on a good run, were top 5 over a 15 game period losing only 15 goals in that time (1 less than Celtic in the same period and best in the division in that time despite Birighitti) so it wasn't a stretch then to think we'd ultimately stay up under Fox, despite his critics he'd done a good job to that point, the injuries hit (Middleton etc) and we let watt go on loan, had the old firm at home back to back, missed the pen at Killie (6 point swing) , had the red card at Tynecastle three days later when playing very well while not doing any business but Ayina (who until last night's turned out a decent acquisition), then the real Birighitti returned against St Johnstone and it snowballed, atmosphere was toxic post Jan window, we appointed Goodwin which was surreal, he kinda got a wee reaction, the fans were back on side but ultimately did no better than Fox unfortunately, not helped by the clown in goal in the last few games (or Craig Napier and var v St Mirren)

As for the keepers Eriksson really was no better, he's awful too, see Celtic home, St Mirren home and St Mirren away, dreadful

    All of this is reality

You know what reality is? Its looking at the table IN THE HERE AND NOW as it doesnt matter a fecking jot if we were top 5 over any period!

Asghar, Foxy and the players were bending us over and short sighted people like yourself did not have the facilities to see that!

"…he will get us out of the division" - based on what? Yes, he got us out of the division once before, but he had Lawrence Shankland in his squad. Without him, do you honestly believe we would have won the league that season? Do you know of another Lawrence Shankland that we can recruit for next season?

Your a good arab, almost always optimistic, and back up your points.

I mean this in the nicest possible way but you are so overly hyper-focused on numbers or plucking out individual things all the time that I think you become detached from reality. Numbers are there to be manipulated and you always find a way to make them work to suit your narrative. TBH i am surprised you've not pulled out the XG stats vs a team, not bottom in some other league in a different country.

If you had for one minute stopped looking at numbers and simply assessed the team based on what we all could see on the pitch, in the squad, the change in atmosphere in the stands, and what was ultimately not happening in the board room it was very obvious to almost everyone that we were either going to go down or would be very close to it, and this was obvious from the beginning of the season.

This isn't a we told you so moment, but more a try giving the random manipulated numbers a break suggestion as the reality is they have all meant nothing
