Something just tells me the owners will never get rid of him, despite his glaring and obvious inadequacies to fulfil the job asked of him.

Appreciated, not necessary, but fitting in this case.

Citing the base 75% chance of failing as the reason to answer 'no' is the most direct answer you could reasonably expect.

Some people really do inhabit the world of probabilities, rather than forced absolutes.

As a general rule, it's foolish and unfair to demand 'yes or no!?', especially to questions of predicting an unknown future outcome. Who can definitively say 'yes' or 'no' as to who will win and lose a 4-team competition, which is by design made up of roughly equal teams?

Nobody knows for certain, that's why we play and watch the games.

The stage was set over 15,000 fans waving flags and scarves and we the fans played our part but disappointingly it was not the result we wanted and it mattered little in the end as in hindsight the automatic ship sailed a few weeks ago.

The two Doncaster goals that we conceded in the first half an hour from their two chances were disappointing. We seemed to be out fought on both occasions and the physical battle is something that in my opinion we have fallen short at times this season. The best sides in this league are able to win those physical battles and games against the physical teams.

Once we went two goals behind the game just ended up becoming a bit meh because we just could not create anything meaningful and Jatta was left isolated. Overall it was a performance that lacked personality, passion and character. Despite being two goals down we still persisted to slow the tempo of the game down to a stop at points. Just no urgency.

We are like a League Two version of England under Southgate in terms of being left with a feeling that the sum of the parts is less than what it could be.

Our home form has cost us automatic promotion this season and as it's been mentioned there are a lot of parallels with the Keith Curle season where we went a calendar year unbeaten away from home.

We needed something positive to go into the playoffs on but todays performance just leaves things a bit flat for me. Yet despite all this if someone had said 6th place and playoffs at the start of the season it would have been yes please for many of us.

At least we are not Walsall fans. 13 points clear of 4th place on the 1st January and lose out on an automatic promotion place in the 97th minute. They have literally gone from automatic promotion form to relegation form in the second half of the season.

The worrying thing in recent weeks is the lack of patterns in our play at home. We seem incapable of breaking the press, and when we do get the ball forwards, Jatta is both incredibly isolated and incapable of holding up play/drawing a foul. Their forward, Street, gave our defence a torrid time. He?s scored 13 on loan from Lincoln since joining Donny in January - now there was a good piece of business in January. We, however, are weaker without Crowley in the middle of the park to carry us forwards.

I was embarrassed watching Grant and Whitaker today - lightweight and anonymous, yet another game where they failed to turn up and support Jatta.

Have we got three big performances in us to win the playoffs? Not on what we?ve seen for most of the season. But as ever, it?s the hope that kills you.

No hope here, I cant make next Saturday?s ridiculous ko time and tbh I?m quite pleased about it Might be in a position to watch it on telly but I probably wont even do that. Sick to death of spineless, boring, gutless awful home performances where the only quality is provided by our 38 year old veteran if he isn?t injured and our 19 year old loan player watched on by our hopeless and helpless head ?coach?.

The only positive I can take from today’s game is that we didn’t lose 4-0 to a team who were sharper all over the pitch. 46 games in and we still have no answer to the well-maintained high press.

Jatta looks like a striker devoid of confidence, energy and belief. Let’s hope the late goal and return of Didzy give him a boost for the playoffs, because we have no Plan B.

The defence has also picked the worst time to start losing individual battles. Bedeau had a mare against Cheltenham, and today Platt looked flat and devoid of energy. Not good for the physical battle ahead against Wimbledon.
