That boy Stephen Craigan was the EBC pundit at Dens last Saturday for the Dees latest Desmond.Prior to kick off he said and there is a massive crowd here today.I checked later and it was under 6000 with less than 5000 Funsters in the 'stadium'.What a load of shyte he blethers at times.![]()
It's funny how pundits know we are a bigger club with much bigger crowds but never say it, they never slaver when we take 2000+ to Easter rd either
By the way Goodwins win% in the top flight with Utd (including the games in our relegation season mess he inherited) is an average but improving 32% compared with "Tony Doc" across the roads 26% for the funsters where he was able to start with a blank canvas last summer
Perception is a funny thing
They refuse to believe their own attendances because they say they're too low, that can't be the correct crowd, looked a lot more than that today ....and they refuse to believe our crowds because they're too high....they must have made that up etc
Total muppets
They incorrectly think our figures are lies but the reality is the one recent error we made in our figure was to announce 7800 as the crowd when it was clearly more, then we corrected it to 9600 but by then BBC had put it out and our own arabarchive haven't corrected it to date, only football webpages site has Utds correct average currently
And talk about loyalty, when we finished 12th both times our fans turned up in numbers home and away all season long, while they were nowhere to be seen in both 2019 and 2022 in their recent relegation years, the only game they can point to where they think we didn't "turn up in our time of need" was when we were already down and we all knew it, our last chance saloon was the midweek before at fir hill where we packed the away end, in Perth the week before that same again, we were were never winning 4 games and in form Killie losing 4 which is what was required, role's reversed they'd not have hit four figures at Tannadice , that's a gunboat FACT
Not one for crowd debates with them.there is no debate to be had. Whats great though is theres always a strong batch of young United supporters coming through. I honestly think the crowd gap is gonna get bigger.
Not sure it will be that big now, yes United are back and playing good. It certainly has a Manchester City feel about it Though, With the current squad and the buzz around the new stadium and all that, you could be right. United may grow OR Dundee may emerge as the top side - if all goes well and they continue on the path they have forged for themselves. I will always have a soft spot for United but dundee have sparked my interest I have to admit. Let’s see how it goes in the league cup. I think both Dundee clubs are at an exciting point and let’s see which one emerges as top dog at the end of the season.
