Not many reds there this year but good crack with the ones I spoke to. Would have been nice if someone from the club had bought us a beer in the hotel afterwards but hey ho can't have everything. Onwards and forwards. COYR
Fair play to you for making the trip GASC
I've asked earlier bout Joe Lewis wearing the captains band for the game, was there any mention of that being a full time gig for him or has next season's captain not been picked / chosen yet

5 new players. Everybody learning how to play with each other , 4 changes to personnel and formations, an organised very defensive opponent, and nobody wanting to get injured in first week of pre season. Plus our real " flair " players were all injured ?

Think that about covers it. Was the same last year v Cobh Ramblers.

Think you`ll se a more serious intent in next two games . And ( possibly !! ) a mor settled formation. ( Then again, that may only come around January , given previous years )

I cannot possibly imagine why Deek & Doc never came and spent time with us ?? Barry Robson sneaked by , and saw a bunch of " medicated " loons shouting and cursing in a posh resort. Surely he wouldn`t have gone and warned them off ?

Still , fair play to Stephen Gunn for coming round and spending time with us, AGAIN !! He must be their sacrificial Lamb !!

And full marks to the all the Bar Staff for not chucking us out either !!

That’s good you had a great time, the fitba is only 90 minutes, however the weekend away is what counts, meeting folk/memories and a couple of half shandies.....and as you say.....onwards and upwards.

I was reading your first paragraph thinking I would have to ask if it was a copy and paste from last year and thinking you better keep it for next year.

Thankfully you have already pointed the problem out and I don’t have to be negative.

We can’t keep on changing half our team every year or our chance of a league challenge will always be over by September.

Yes. i guessed that DD. It`s the modern fitba World , that due to Guffieland $$$$, we will always be scooping around for palyers. And any decent player will get bought up by them , on spec....for cheap ( to them )

So I don`t expect to keep a steady team yr on yr anymore. I can see that Deek sticks to his system. But nae quite the way Aja Amsterdam have always played one way . And brought up entire generations of squads to play for them, " that way ".

Cannot see that hapening at Aberden. It would be the best longterm method. Briniging youngster thru like that . But we`ve not done it since we discovered the Ajax method in the Seventies. So I doubt it`ll be started now.

I Do wish however that Deek could adapt his plan to allow for the best attributes of his best players though. as it doesn`t look like he does that too much. But then again, what do I know ?!!

anyway. We have our 4 Centre halfs. We have our four " wingers ". We have two players for each postion , nearly. Lets get that new experienced Centre Mid in, and give it a go.

If only he could pick a team and stick with it from the start/before the start of the season. We might start off better,.....then agains , mebbes no. Again. What do I know ? Nae much.

Tell you what I do know. This RosPa game will probably be tight over the 2 legs. I`m expecting a 0-0 at home ?

The away goals rule was a good thing when it was introduced.
    Not so sure now though.

Playing not to lose a goal at home is excessively boring.
