Hull were quite beatable, but our kamikaze defending let us down. Hull were nothing special against Chelsea today , other than rallying in the last few minutes when it was too late.

Ajayi was sent off today (second yellow), but the Baggies still beat West Ham one-nil.

Watched live games/highlights etc. on ESPN+

Ajayi was sent off for two challenges that wouldn't have even been fouls 15 years ago.

Barnsley battered at Portsmouth. Watched the whole game. Williams doesn't seem to have gotten any better. Raggett is pretty solid in the Pompey defence and with Burgess forms a big CH pairing who are a threat at corners. Barnsley were never really in it but at 2-0 down scored with a 35 yarder out of the blue and Brown missed a sitter 2 minutes later to make it 2-2. From the resulting long goal kick, just 2 touches and 30 seconds later they were 3-1 down and game over.

Anyone watching highlights tonight don't miss the injury time howler of a miss from Coventry, it's a beauty.

So the Cobblers have the same incentive at Derby as they did when they came to Millmoor for the replay 16 years ago. Good luck to them.

Disrespectful Klopp, he’s definitely at the right club

Jurgen Klopp has vowed to play Liverpool's kids in their FA Cup replay with Shrewsbury as it clashes with the Premier League's winter break.

And the Liverpool manager insists neither he nor his Champions League-winning senior stars will even be there.

This thread was, a bit like the FA Cup itself, almost forgotten. I see the 5th Round has even been relegated to a mid-week, 4 night jamboree and our team to watch is Silly's Dad's Rams, or Derby County to those who prefer formal names. Not one of my favourite teams but then again neither are their opponents so I'm not sure what to wish for. I guess the MM curse will probably strike again and Mr Rooney and friends will be dispatched by the mighty Red Devils.

Unusual FA Cup 5th round scheduling

I must have missed the announcement but this season's fifth-round ties are all being played in midweek, with all eight ties to be decided on the night commencing next Monday. I can't recall this happening before

Monday - The tie featuring League One Portsmouth, the lowest ranked club left in the competition, at home to record 13-time winners Arsenal, will be shown on BT Sport on 2 March (19:45).

Tuesday - BBC One - Chelsea against Liverpool on 3 March (19:45 GMT) .

Wednesday - The FA Cup sixth-round draw will follow the match also on BBC between Sheffield Wednesday and Premier League champions City on 4 March (19:45).

Never mind any of you neo liberal BBC hating political types, that's got to be worth the license fee alone. Comedy gold.

Thursday - BT Sport will also show Derby County at home to Manchester United on 5 March (19:45), a tie which could see the Rams' Wayne Rooney face his old club.

If ties are level after 90 minutes, extra time and penalties will determine who goes through.

The FA Cup final takes place at Wembley on 23 May.

Suppose I better bump this as the 'forgotten' competition is going on at the moment. In case you've lost the plot, Derby County are the team we are following, at least for a couple more days until the curse strikes.

Just shows how the competition is disrespected these days. Even Pompey couldn't be bothered to put out their 1st XI against Arsenal.
