It's the warm feeling inside again folks. So close to a fantastic and very improbable clean sheet in the circumstances. Still maintains best defence in the league.

Stunning perfomance against limited opposition, impressed with the left back so although very early days and you should never judge prematurely could be another good piece of recruitment by the club.

Wootton is still the man and Rodders looks like he can definitely demand a fee in the future with those sort of of perfomances.

As others have already commented, made me laugh that we go down to 10 men have an old man midfielder in goal and Ardley decides not to go defensive or conservative in his approach. Quite the opposite and it worked a treat.

Great nights work, #£&* the MOTM curse but harder fixtures to come.

Great management tonight from Ardley. He adopted an excellent approach to the game.

The player ratings thread is redundant tonight, because everyone deserves 10/10*. If I had to pick someone above the others, it would be Neal Ardley with 10.001/10. When we went down to 10 men, our tactics and formation were spot on, and if anything, we looked like the team with an extra man. We need to use this game as a springboard to promotion, because the ability is definitely there. The only downside is that we couldn't be there to see it - 5,000 inside Meadow Lane would have sounded like 20,000 under those circumstances, and very few would have gone home until the last man had been applauded off.

    * Sorry Sam Slocombe, I can forgive your poor first touch, but the studs up tackle when their striker was going away from goal was a moment of madness. I think the ref got the red card right.
Totally agree. We can all celebrate tonight.

    Torquay losing as well!

Torquay 0-1 Wealdstone 1 at halfers. But they've got no manager, or fans, or ground.

One player not mentioned tonight was Reeves....thought he looked a completely different player having more control and responsibility....his energy, along with every single player, was fantastic!

He's a very good player at this level, probably had his worse 2 games before. Also shows Nott's biggest challenge this season is breaking down teams sitting with 4 or 5 at the back, they came at us tonight because we had 10 men and we crucified them. I guess there's an argument for letting teams have the ball more and pulling them on to you and then hitting them on the break, its a fine balance though.

Anyone heard from Davy? He must be absolutely gutted about tonight. 3 points. A good performance against the odds. Doyle stepping up as captain. The players to a man playing well. The manager for picking the right team to begin with and then not to panic when the brown smelly stuff hit the fan.
    Love it.
