Derby at Tannadice was the perfect example, Harkes asked the question by hitting the target, keeper should have saved.

Freeman who was terrible before going off last night is prob the most attacking of them all but his strength seems to be driving into the box and not his crossing

Scarily for me the best crosser of the ball might actually be Watt but given how awful our other strikers are we probably need him in the box.

I cant see us going out and getting new wing backs, the 3 not including sporle that we already have are probably gonna be our main ones for some time so we absolutely need to find some creativity thru the middle.
sheep isn't bad at crossing - hearing he has a knock so that may be an issue just now but aye watts crossing is beyond the rest of the team. He is a good signing, Mulgrew and McMann too - the rest so far have been poor very very poor combined with below average already at club. Only players (and I won't include youth 21 and below here) decent are siegriest, McMann, freeman, Edwards, Mulgrew, Watt and to the horror of others Butcher. From the youth I include potential still at club mochrie, meekison, Moore, Neilson and graham. Players who shouldn't be playing for us are sporle, clark, mcnulty, hoti, harkes along with experienced ones out on loan.

Biouamou or whatever he is - that's just a total mind fvck.

Levitt is on loan and we have 2 new players - so I include them in decent just now.

you look at that (my opinion btw) and we have a gk, defence, midfield reliant on 1 or 2 and attack reliant on 1. creativity reliant on no one.

Its the guy that shoved the Aberdeen player but missed part of the match because he was in the pie que that picked the team last night.

It's the combination in midfield and attack.

If you think back to Tommy McLean era, you had Oloffson, Winters and McLaren as essentially a front 3, but behind them Zetterlund, Dolan, McInally/Bowman/McKinnon, none of them was a ball carrier, our full backs Perry and Pedderson were essentially defensive full backs, probably on par with McMann and Freeman in terms of getting forward. But you could just put a ball behind the opposition for Winters or Oloffson to chase, which would then bring the whole team up the pitch, Oloffson could act as a battering ram and compete physically with opponents, and McLaren added a bit of trickery.

Levitt can pick out a pass, as he did v Livi, but not if there is no one to pass to. There was no width for him to pass out wide or put a ball behind the full back until we introduced wingers, and if you play a ball in behind for our strikers your money is on the defender to win any chase.

In the absence of blinding fast full backs, or blinding fast strikers, wingers would help both the strikers and the midfielders. We aint exactly blessed in that area.

someone who can drift in between midfield and up front would help or pace. agree 100% with this. we have no one like this. system doesn't work but then tams alternative is one up top - imagine watt isolated like that like shanks was. ffs

Can't remember the player being interviewed ( might have been Watt, ) but he touched upon the slower build-up as a tactic to draw teams further up the park. This is all fine and good if the team we are playing against has 11 behind the ball and no intention of attacking until we lose possession high up the pitch. But we seem to want to do it every match.

Playing against the teams that try to waste time from the first minute, we must be a dream come true for them, actually wasting more time than they are by needlessly knocking the ball sideways, back the way etc. Looks great on the match stats but, really, it means fcuk all.

I'm no big fan of hoofba' but, there has to be a mixture, and you need a certain type of player to make it work. (we hae nane)
