Great assist though when he spun Mark Ellis and laid it on for Ruben according to Stallard.

Maybe. Tonight in itself isn’t a disaster, but when it’s approximately the 73rd time this season we’ve managed to drop points in a big game after taking the lead, we perhaps need to accept that there’s a pattern there.

From following other sports, not accumulating enough points to match your talent is the hallmark of a younger team.

Fast forward a couple of years, have more of our players at their peaks, and we'd probably eke out far more points. That doesn't help us this season, but it doesn't mean we have no chance - we do.

In our case it’s a hallmark of a manager who seems to genuinely believe that the best way to see out a one goal lead is to bring on another attacking player for a defensive one, despite all evidence to the contrary.

You can't describe Vincent as a defensive player.
And there was no other midfielder on the bench. We were down to the bare bones - the squad is thin

Maybe not, but he was playing there out of necessity tonight. Not amazingly, but he was there. When winning, I'm unconvinced that the right option was to remove one of two holding midfielders to bring on a winger. Simply bizarre management.

We need to get Don O'Riordan back to play as sweeper. Worked a treat 30 years ago!

Good call! We know he's been eating well after what he says about his wife's dinners on magpie circle

There you go then, problem solved! It would be a doddle for a player of his class at this level. The Don didn't just read the game, he wrote it!
