I've got a time and labour-saving suggestion for Swale as the moderator. On every thread, set up an automatic rule that diverts to the 'Handbags' thread after 20 posts. Reduce to 10 for three hours after we've just lost.![]()
Quite right BFP, it's human nature to be curious about stuff going on at your club, especially when reading conflicting reprts from posters who pretend to have secret knowledge but can't say too much. If you weren't interested in the latest goss you didn't have to follow the fred for two weeks and then tell us how so-and-so is making you lose sleep because it's nothing to do with anybody but the club and player concerned.
I believe that's Bob's first post since commenting "Same sh1t different day" on the matchday thread just minutes after Kings Lynn scored.
Naturally there were no further comments after any of the 4 Notts goes or since#vivaNCM
Classic Big Bob lol
I kinda know what elite means
There was an issue with cal…
He’s had his ass slapped..
Made a comment then deleted it…
Has now hopefully learnt?,,,,
Birch hasn’t openly said there was a problem…
Just had to say, whatever rumours are flying about will be dealt with internally.
That would of put an end to everything
Instead birch decided against that and stated there was no issue
So when folk say don’t treat us loyal fans like fools, try being a bit more truthful
That doesn’t mean hang the dirty laundry out to dry
Just a bit more respect

Problem is if Burch says there's a problem being dealt with in house, he confirms there's a problem and it invites more questions from journalists, alerts other clubs to the fact that Cal might not be happy, alerts our opposition to then fact that all might not be well in the dressing room, and so on. Nothing good can come from that as far as Notts are concerned.
It was fairly obvious there was some kind of problem, so it's normal for fans to speculate (I did it myself).
Now it's equally clear that whatever the problem was it has been resolved. Cal is back on the pitch and scoring goals, which is basically all that matters, so it's all's well that ends well as far as I'm concerned.
If he had said "whatever rumours are flying about will be dealt with internally." That isn't quite pouring fuel on the flames but you certainly aren't pouring water on them either. That statement allows and encourages rumours to grow, could be viewed as confirming the rumours. Plus we had a fair idea it was being dealt with internally by the actions of non-selection. You've just got to read between the lines.
Maybe someone at the club told the head coach what to say when asked after it had been internally discussed at the club. If to some this boils down to the head coach not saying the right words when answering a question by a local journo and therefore misleading the fans, then I'd suggest we are missing the bigger (alleged) story here regarding a certain player.
Thankfully this seems to have been firmly put to bed last week by all the key players involved even if some fans want to try and keep it going.
