I find it worrying that in the recent interview Barker says that we need answers from Smith and Icky quickly otherwise we will have to look for replacements. Well whe/ther smudge and icky stay or not we still need at least one CB and forward, so are we really sat back waiting. Also warne said previously that Smith wouldn’t keep us waiting, apparently they don’t know him that well. The lack of early signings is not good, and as much as I rate Smith if he goes to the pigs, that is betrayal it will show what he thinks of the club, fans, manager and the chairman.
If the Parkgate friendly is on the 1st of July then pre season training has to start on ,say, the 25th June at the latest. That is 2 weeks on Monday and there does seem an awful lot to do before then. They fly out to Croatia the day after the Parkgate game.
Richie Barker said they are drawing up plans to replace Icky and Smudge should they move on. They want an answer soon otherwise they will miss out on targets. They want to know whether they are moving on targets or not. They aren't sitting there waiting on them both without a contingency for one or neither staying. They aren't stupid.
They haven't said anything about not looking for players alongside those they may need to sign if we lose one or two of the aforementioned. To me it sounds as though they want to know from the pair of them so that they can make a move on players who they have targeted as replacements before those players go somewhere else. They will undoubtedly be looking at targets anyway that they wish to sign to complement the squad irrespective of whether either of those two stays.
Just because they are waiting on Icky and Smudge it doesn't then mean they aren't looking at other signings that they know they need to make. You're blurring two separate situations into one.
I'd stick my neck out and say Icki and Smudge have informed the management team. I'd also say that the management team are staying.
Hopefully two signings before the weekend and that's not Icky or Smith re-signing they are both going. If "Rab" Douglas gets his finger out one should be the Smith replacement for a decent fee.
TS will then be on the phone to Radio Dee Dar for a bit of PR around the backing that he is giving Warne
Derby, how can you possibly say that? Michael Smith has given his all for us and the pain barrier he's just played through this last season was more than proof enough. What he is possibly now facing is his last big contract deal. He has a Wife, a very young Daughter and another baby on the way. He has every god given right to sign for who he thinks will provide himself and his family the biggest financial security going forward.
To say if he goes to Weds because they are willing to give him that financial security is betrayal, is pathetic pal!
I thought you of all people would know there's no loyalty in football these days, all footballers are looking for the best pay possible in what is a short employment life and especially if it's their last one in football.

According to Tizer smith n icky close to leaving RUFC, no new signings in near future, no mention of any possible signings, carlton morris (rumour) warne says not true, if Barnsley were to sell him we wouldnt be able to afford him anyway. On the Blackburn gig.PW says its flattering to be included in their conversations but at the moment he is focused on RUFC and keeping us in the Championship. Chill out guys. UTFM
