A weak and ineffective performance on the whole with Tsaroulla the bright spot against a poor barrow side and we robbed a point. Hinchy set the tone after 2 minutes with that pass and was deservedly subbed off. Better after Maynard's changes but there is really little to no movement at all without Jones drawing defenders and allowing others more space. I can understand why he is playing Crowley where he is but our attacking options without Dan and Jodi pulling strings upfront are severely limited. I would assume it will be one up front on Saturday now as well as Didzy must be knackered. I think it is a question of muddling through until we get our injuries back in the new year and staying in touch. Shades of Ardleyball but a bit worse.

Platt and Bass also had good games, McGoldrick was trying hard but not everything came off. The subs did well to be fair. To say nobody turned up apart from Tsaroulla is just plain naivety.

We've drawn away with a top side in this division whilst having around 7 or 8 key players out.

I understand the frustration, but this result shows we are better equipped this season to lead a charge for promotion when the cards aren't stacked in our favour.
Think a few need to remember this is LEAGUE 2 football, if you’re expecting your side to come out every game playing amazing it’s sadly not the league for you.
Promotion tipped Donny and Gillingham lost at home tonight, this is probably going to be what it’s going to be like all season, a grind.

[QUOTE=jackal2;40590095]You can't ignore the injuries we've suffered to key players like Edwards and Jones. At the moment it's all about grinding out as many points as possible, waiting for lads like these to return, and then hoping we get more luck on the injury front in the second half of the season.[/QUOTE

Of course, and credit to the team for somehow scraping these results together but you can only get away with performances like these, and the last few games, before you don’t get a lucky penalty, or the other team aren’t three up by half time. I think we’re all aware of the players we’re missing and the impact that has but that isn’t any excuse for the lack of shape, tempo and basic concentration for large portions of a game.

Whilst we continue to scrape these lucky results there’s an element of the emperor’s new clothes about it all. We’re using up a hell of a lot of luck too early in the season for my liking.

^^^^^I get the point about missing players but if that's the ability of our squad depth God help us.
You're 50% right about the game. That first half was completely unacceptable.
The second, however, we probed a lot and made them worried...which is why they ended up sitting back and holding on.

Can we just all realise that sometimes you have to accept results/performances like this in EFL2?

Ffs Wrexham had loads of late goals last season and that was one of the key aspects of them getting promoted....they never gave up.

Can’t see how we didn’t deserve a point there, Barrow commentator said we deserved at least that. Poor first half and we have to stop having to chase the game.

Pleased with that in the end, we are now showing a never say die attitude.

Auto promotion place after 13 games will do for me no matter how we have achieved it.

    Got away with one there.
I disagree. On the balance of things I think we deserved a point. First half was unacceptable but we dominated in the 2nd barring the odd counter attack from them.

Can't agree they did nothing second half and we deserved a point, even their commentator said so.

That was a hard watch and not just because of the posts in the way !
I’m really hoping Palmer can get back to how he was before his injury because tonight he was truly dreadful.
They caused us so many problems running at our defenders and when we did the same we worried them, but we just didn’t do it enough. Our build ups were so slow at times.
A good point and I wouldn’t say we robbed Barrow but more like they got what they deserved in time added on due to their time wasting.
Wiping the smug grin off their keepers face, who a few minutes earlier was giving it large to the Notts fans was a bonus as well.
