Well done Notts for getting the cash. Good riddance.
It?s a very concise and decent statement.

    He clearly wanted away.

We are Notts County, we move on.

    me too, from Notts offix:

Dan Crowley has joined MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.

A statement from our board of directors reads: “Firstly, our thanks go to Dan for his excellent performances during his time at Meadow Lane.

“Having established himself as a key player for us, we were keen to agree a new long-term contract ahead of his current deal expiring this summer. Unfortunately, however, Dan’s expectations exceeded what we were prepared to offer.

“We nevertheless maintained a good relationship and rejected several substantial bids this month and last summer, with us prepared to retain Dan’s services up until the conclusion of his contract should our high valuation of him not be met in this transfer window.

"This latest offer, however, was acceptable to us and, with Dan informing us that he wanted the move to happen, we have sanctioned it.

“While Dan has certainly been an influential figure for us, following the exciting additions of Will Jarvis and Charlie Whitaker, as well as the return to fitness of Conor Grant and Curtis Edwards, we have many strong options in his area of the pitch and we’re very confident the squad can mount a strong challenge for promotion without him.”

Well MK Dons obviously thought it was a reasonable enough demand. What's the point in signing broken men and *******s if once they've proven their worth and can contribute we offload to the highest bidder.

If we finish 4th and MK Dons 3rd then at least we can look at the club accounts to cheer us up ey.

none of us know the future though including Dan - including how the Bros end up spending the dosh. I'd love to see the look on DC's face if we go up and MKD don't because he has sold out.

Even better if we go up and MK get beaten by the real Wimbledon in the play-offs.

That's two players that have left that have gone to clubs I would not have considered to be a good fit. Must be some big pound signs dangling around.

Another sold for a fee. It is genuinely nice to be a club who has players other clubs want to buy.

DC is undoubtedly a quality player. Not beyond critique, but blindingly obvious quality and a player we will miss.

If he did not want to sign a new contract, thats fine. If he wants to have a bigger contract now, thats fine too. If he was being an issue, then it?s a sensible decision to get some money in.

And I am sure the club have tried to speak to him as an adult about it all. But none of us are DC and none of us really know much of the truth. Overall, an interesting statement. Although I am sure we will hear some monumental toss about him in the coming days.

I would now expect some more solid squad investment. Citing Grant, Edwards, Jarvis and Whitaker is sound, but that is a lot of proven ability and output thats left the building. Either time for some to step up or continue stepping up, but I would be hoping for some more investment at the top end of the pitch.
