Stuff the cyclists.
The wifie that's causing a' this trouble would be getting a right earfull if she didn't happen to be a mates wife.
Given that the mate in question is a shared acquaintance, it's not you that's behind all this madness is it?
Eyes down in the Angry Velodrome.

All threads eventually include Brexit, independence, and anti-cycling bigotry.

No. Injury stopped me regularly peching my way from BoD up that ****ing gradient on Wellington Road to Altens regularly from about Sept 2016, although I still whip around the ‘burbs, or into town on two wheels when necessary. Driving in town is generally unnecessary for me, and I’m VERY wary of using buses currently. I think I’ve only used either of my bikes about six times this year, and only saw the King St End (not THAT one) of the Esplanade arrangements from the opposite pavement at Seaton, so can’t comment.
Since the recycling performance of the country seems to have gone paps aloft (95% of plastic collected being sent overseas for recycling), and INEOS are tankering fracked product into Grangemouth in thoosans of cubic metres, the much-publicised Blairite target-based green agenda’s going to have to be delivered somehow, and I guess the Scottish Government saw the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and give money to local authorities to encourage non-impact travel and put in place social distancing measures.
I’ve no idea or informed opinion or whether or not these are any good, or are working since I’m not a civil engineer, a transport expert or an epidiemologist.
I do know from a previous day job though, that there are countless examples of innovations being kicked to **** on introduction which are now the norm. I think that the mantra used in such cases is “it’s not creativity that’s lacking, it’s receptivity”.

We had another cyclist fatality last week round out bit. Seems to happen most years. Everyone knows that 99% of road users are f*cking @rseholes, I just don’t understand why they risk it. Especially on dodgy roads in the winter.
I see they’re closing the beach boulevard for a month to remove the cycle lane.
They’re only burning off some paint for f’uck sake.
