this is the thing I dont think Warne will just give them one game.

apart from a little change here and there I can basically see it lasting for 5 to 10 games with the team from last season.

Need at least 2 more decent midfielders and a striker before window closes otherwise we're doomed.
According to Einsein making the same mistakes over and over and expecting a different out come was a sign of insanity.

Don't know whether this is true or not, but can you imagine Ferguson or Shankley picking a team out of sentimentality?

It's not uncommon for new players not to play the first game, the bigger mistake was probably playing 2 upfront.

    Never!

Warne must have thought they'd got it in them to carry on where they left off at Wembley.
I'm afraid though the standard for this league is nothing like League 1.

    But they played 4-2-3-1

Warne picked two wide players in midfield that don't have a tackle between them.

Just doing basic homework would have revealed that Brentford like to get the ball quickly forward, to try to get the ball behind the opposition full backs. To prevent that you have to stifle supply from midfield. We had two midfielders capable of winning the ball and two "leg wavers".

Result? Brentford see a lot of the ball, had time to pick a pass and play the statistical game of make chances and you will score from some of them.

    Which worked far too easily.

Sad thing was the flaw in our play was obvious from the 15 minute mark but Warne and Barker didn't do anything to change it.

Agreed. The lack of any flexible thinking and willingness to adapt is the most worrying thing about yeaterday's performance
