Ratcliffe thinks its absurd "capable" people are on gardening leave in football. Well, there are reasons for that Sir Jim, they are called rules, contracts and ethical behavior. If the boot was on the other foot you can bet this Wally would be bouncing with anger.

He appears to have little self awareness or is just plain niave. Pay the fee if you want and value him Sir Jim.

The email itself appears to be a rookie mistake which makes me think either it was just a careless mistake or done on purpose. Either scenario doesn't make him look good.

I hope our owners get some serious lawyers in and just go all the way, on both Man u, Asworth and that Omar or whatever his name was.

What a bunch of amaterurs the new Man U setup is! 😂

They should get some serious punishment on this one.

The egg is already on their faces. This could blow up into something much much bigger and worse for filthy red cheats.

Really - what they need to do now, is pay us what we want and get him in quick before more information comes to light that could hurt them more.

ALso, agree with Rag - the prem/FA will have to come down hard on Omar at bare minimum. Man Utd might be able to sneak out of that by saying he wasn't working for them at the time and this is off his own initiative.

Ashworth is more in the crap than he realizes

    Quote from the Chronicle.

Newcastle United have maintained a dignified silence on the Dan Ashworth situation after it emerged the sporting director made an "email blunder" during his messy Toon exit.

The Magpies will not comment on the matter, but Chronicle Live understands that reports Ashworth inadvertently revealing he'd been approached by Manchester United are believed to be accurate according to those close to the situation.

The Daily Mail first reported that Ashworth sent an email to Man United CEO Omar Berrada. The email was also sent by Ashworth to himself as a blind copy, breaching Newcastle's in-house HR rules on communication.

It is understood that a full investigation is under way at Newcastle and their position on Ashworth's future is stronger than it was before. Newcastle want £20million compensation for his services with Ashworth trying to put up a legal fight to be released early.

Berrada is yet to start at Man United ahead of his July move from rivals Man City. It is expected that Ashworth's gardening leave does not expire until the end of 2025, leaving Sir Jim Ratcliffe in a tricky spot if he wants Ashworth in work this summer.

Surprised he hasn’t asked Trafford council to pay up for Ashworth 😡

I wonder if the little tw*t will continue to claim he was sacked? 😆😆😆
    I think not!

It’s a school boy error but he probably had the bcc to his club email as a default. Rat face will be fuming!🤣

Rat face giving it the ‘that’s not how things work in this country’ speel re Ashworth having to serve gardening leave.
How do we do things in this country then, Jim? By approaching people secretly who’re under contract and tap them up??
It’s pretty rich getting lessons in morality from someone who moved his residence abroad to avoid paying tax in the UK and who taps up people under contract. The man’s a crook - not surprised he wants Ashworth to work for him.

What do you mean NOW? haha

Fergi & his son were the kings of tapping up 'allegedly'. The brown envelope gang. They had more agents in their pocket than Harvey Weinstein.

Man U's success was built on dirty money and cheating, 'allegedly'

They've always skirted the rules & not felt the full force of punishment. Keane breaking Haalands leg, Rio 'missing' his drug test, Tevez transfer / part ownership for almost the first half a season which is categorically against Premier League rules.

I genuinely hope that Man City & Newcastle go after Manchester United with full force and don't 'settle' out for anything other than the maximum punishment. Transfer Bans, Huge fines and the long term suspension of C-Ashworth and the other muppet.
