Well our date is Apr 23, almost on the date when we went up to the Prem. 😉
Din't they try to make England's day a national holiday, and I think thats a good idea actually, for all four of these Saints dates.

What sticks out Roma is that St George's day isn't promoted like St Patrick's Day is .

No special effort is made in pubs or even making it a holiday like it is in Ireland I believe .

The Irish do it how it should be done but for some reason we don't .

Yet we are a patriotic nation , it just doesn't add up .

I think it’s a bit like scousers. They love it that much they can’t wait to leave Liverpool. Then talk about how great the place is

    Tha reight Animal.
All mi cousins (and there’s plenty of them) on that side of the family are Catholic.
Only me and mi brother that’s not.
And we definitely see ourselves as English - not Irish.

And generally they don’t like the British.
Go to any hotel in Southern Ireland and look at the flags outside.
EU, Germany, Canada etc etc and America of course.
    But no Union Jacks.
An example last time I was there - bad comments about us Brits - especially when they have had a drink - me and mi brother hadn’t been at an hotel bar in Ballina long before the bar man was threatening to smack us with a table leg.

I've found the Irish to be some of the very best people I've ever met .

I've visited it twice and the people are warm , welcoming , friendly and extremely generous .

Off to work soon so haven't the time , later on I'll tell you a true story about the warmth of the Irish people towards me following the infamous Ireland v England game in 95 at Lansdowne Road .

They have been ok with us generally.
But there’s an undercurrent there with some of them - especially when they’ve had a drink.
I remember hearing about one of mi aunties having a fracas in a shop about the same thing - slagging off the Brits.

I’ve had something sent to me by one of mi cousins about St Patrick’s Day but it’s got f….ing said in it - so I would need permission from Acid / Admin to post it.
