Thread: Just Stop Oil Protesters

  1. #11
Pack of morons, what will they achieve?
Nobody seems to take any notice of them, they are an irritant, like a piece of dog muck stuck to your shoe you can’t shake off

The only place these eco-zealots should be is outside the Chinese embassy, IF manmade emissions are a significant contributor to climate change then whatever the UK does makes almost no difference and the current Uk trajectory for CO2 is going down. There also isn't enough solar, tidal and wind-power - the oil is there for a reason and we need it for a long time to come, why not look to find cleaner ways to use it & plant a tree for every tree felled across the world as a starter for 10?

I had the quote for solar to be fitted in my garden today, over £18k for the panels and a battery.

The payback time on mine will be 13 years according to the firm supplying.

It’s a toss up with me at nearly 62 and my missus at nearly 67.

There really should be far more government subsidy on this stuff.

The car wall chargers are an additional £1000 each and we need two of them.

I’ll probably do it just to future proof our home and because we have electricity outages during winter that the battery packs will help us avoid mostly.

But for the average family, £20k is too much for this infrastructure.

That's steep for sure Mick and I agree that more subsidies would help, with the current cost of living pressures it's a non starter for many.
