Thanks for all the best wishes .
I had the procedure without sedation and just had a nasal and throat spray .
The specialist explained with sedation, you can have forgetfulness , your heart can skip a beat and a longer recovery .
Because I've got unstable angina, I wanted to be fully aware incase I had an angina attack . Plus he said he wouldn't discuss any findings if I had sedation , due to being unable to to take it in .
The procedure is uncomfortable , they go through your nostril i asked him to go through the left one . Because the right one is blocked, after sparing with a blackbelt 5th dan he caught me with a roundhouse kick .
A junior doctor did it under supervision,of the specialist . Once he got passed my throat it was bearable , my nose was sore and felt the odd pain when he touch parts of the lungs .
I had a nose bleed when he pulled the camera out . I asked the young doctor if had done many ,because the specialist was guiding him through it .
He said it was his Ist time ," I jokeingly said I wished I had opted for sedation , but the told well done "
The specialist told , the good news is he didn't find any masses but both both of my lungs are badly scared ( pulmonary fibrous)
The blood I have been coughing could have been because of my chest infection , with lung scaring you can have flare ups .
After the procedure you go to the recovery ward ,to be monitored blood pressure etc, the nurse who helped with the procedure said I had done well . After about 10 minutes , my whole body started shaking, legs arms, throat and stomach .
I thought i was having a fit , only lasted a couple minutes then started again after half an hour .
The doctor came to see me and suspected delayed shock or a reaction from the throat spray .
I feel good now and wow did that cup of tea taste good , after hours with no food and drink .
Before all this I saw the Lady dentist , who checked my mouth after last months biosey .
She said it had healed well ,but apolagised that results wasn't back . So got to wait .
Got to be referred back to the chest clinic, to see were we go from here .
My wife told not to google lung scarring ,so far I have resisted the temptation.

Good to hear from you Lloyd and there’s the obvious relief of having got through the proceedure.

I had the camera up my nose and down my throat a few years ago and decided not to tell you about it yesterday, like you say, it’s that first part that’s worst as they force it through the upper part of your nostril, after that it isn’t much bother but I had to have it up both nostrils so I knew what was coming as he lined up the second one! 🫣😩

You remind me of my one nan, she was a creaking door like you, had a serious stroke at 50 and then another that very nearly killed her when she was 53 and lived until she was 85, I suspect you’ll be the same, you’ll probably outlive your super fit twin! 😏

Enjoy a relaxing day on Tuesday mate.

All of the very best to you and your wife.
