So a possible problem attacking midfielder who hasn't played for a while, a rookie 18 year old from manure, a midfielder who is currently crocked, and an obscure midfielder from the continent who may find it difficult (based on past experience with such players) to adjust to the championship are the known targets.

No striker unless thats being kept under wraps, can't say i am that impressed with the potential business, will provide some cover but improve the quality of the squad as far as I can judge, anyone else got the distinct impression we are just acquiring numbers?

That would certainly seem to be the case as we offload players that as things stand are better quality than what we are bringing in.

I get the impression that we are in a financial mess and that the takeover is as far away as ever.

The appointment of Rooney as manager and keeping the current coaches looks as much a pragmatic financial move as one based on football. Not that at the moment one could quibble with that and it may turn out to be a good move.
