We're all working on the assumption the take over happens.

Obviously, compared to Bruce we'd take him.

But if we're backed by Saudi money, we can do better than what he has become.

I understand once takeover complete todays Mourinho is not as good as previous years and his reputation is on the decline, therefore we shouldn't be looking at him.
On the other hand, I believe in medals on the table, the man is a winner, even in bad seasons he comes up with the odd trophy.

I heard that shepherd refused to pay jose's wages, when bobby asked for him to come here. big fat no from them at the top

Ive always had a bit of a soft spot for him, my youngest absolutely loved him when he truly was "the special one"

But it was he, himself who modestly titled himself the special one wasn't it.

Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of all time and certainly isn’t a “spent force”. Yes his style of football can be seen as negative in modern terms when compared to the styles of Klopp and Guardiola. However, so is Rafa’s and I didn’t see too many complaints when he was managing us. Mourinho’s man management at Porto, Chelsea and Inter was unrivalled. Amazing what a couple of bad season’s can do to tarnish a decorated manager’s reputation!

Hypothetically and if the takeover goes ahead, we could do a lot worse than José. Some of the replies in this thread are baffling considering we currently have Steve Bruce...

But we're not being asked to have him compared to Bruce.

All of us would have him over Bruce.

    When/if a takeover happens he'll be canned.
