Thread: Disgusting scenes last night

Not so much invading the pitch - Ipswich did it but the fans were all sensible and turned into a pitch party.

It was more the taunting of the baggies fans that was the issue.

Apparently Rishi Sunak was in the stands on Friday night to watch his beloved Saints take on WBA.

The Prime Minister is a self-described “massive Saints fan” & was seen standing & clapping wearing a hoodie emblazoned with “Saints 85”.

Not sure if he got onto the pitch reminding everyone to behave as his latest published Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plan states.

Couldn't work out what 85 meant to Southampton FC. I initially thought 1985, but could not think of anything of note. Then I realized it refers to 1885, the year of their founding. Appropriate, i guess as they haven't achieved anything of note since then, except for the 76 FA Cup final. I guess the other football honor is how they got thrashed by Leeds in '73. Revie's boys taught them a lesson 7-0. There were long periods when no Southampton player touched the ball.
