    Exactly.
We have Tories or Tory-lite (champagne Socialists).
If only there was a credible third alternative.

That might depend on whether the tories have pissed off enough of their own voters on the right by not bring extreme enough on immigration and go to reform as well as in the centre who think they are too barking and switch to lib dems.

I have to agree with this.
The incumbent’s are liars, cheats and seriously incompetent. Unelectable in my view.
Sunak hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing. Way, way out of his depth

That’s got a lot to do with the do gooders, all those that campaign to let them in.I will vote for anybody that stops Yorkshire water putting their bills up by 46% the robbing bar stewards.

This is the one last hurl of the dice in giving a desperate hope for a higher summer turnout than a winter one will sway something…

Well anyone expecting the Labour Party to make things better over the next five years assuming they win the GE will be pretty disappointed in my opinion .

I accept they are inheriting a shyte show and nothing like what they inherited in 1997 when the economy was in decent shape but none the less they don't appear to be exactly inspiring or seem to have any key policies that suggest change for the better .

We aren't the Tories seems to be about as much as you are going to get from them .

I take the point bringing the railways back in to public ownership is worthy but I think there are plenty of things more important than that right now .

Housing crisis , the nhs , schools , law and order , defence of the country and shoring up our borders for instance .

The Labour Party will get five years to make things considerably better or they are out , it's a conservative country and the electorate won't give them the time they do to the Tories .

My bet is that the Tories will be back in five years and further to the right because that's the way things are going , not only here but across Europe and once the right in Europe gets its hat and coat on it's a formidable opponent .

animallittle3, where do you get that 'it's a conservative country'? I think it will be a landslide for Labour if anyone has anything about them and not allowing this 'Shyte' show to continue as you say.

As for Labour's key policies, and before we do look at them, let's also take a look at what you put pal.

''Housing crisis , the nhs , schools , law and order , defence of the country and shoring up our borders for instance''. No party has any chance of turning that lot around in 5 years, such is the state and mess the Tories have got this country into. Anybody thinks they can well they live in dreamland.

The railways like you mention is a good key policy along and they are also looking to create a Government owned/run Utilities company covering Gas/Electricity/Water. Now for me that's a great shout. We have far too many foreign company owners that simply dictate all and sundry to us charging what they like. We need our own analysts to help Labour if they get in, in order to form a structure to claim back all our utility businesses and only charge what is reasonable without causing anguish and stress on families.

Deep breath, I feel too vexed to discuss your other points, sorry pal, but I'm sick to the back teeth how these, *cough*, Tory politicians have made their lives all the better while the country is on it's knees. Let's not forget our dear Queen sat their all alone at her Husband's funeral during Covid while Boris and his lap dogs partied without a frigging, polite version, care for us out there not being able to see their loved ones pass.

Anyone voting Tory seriously needs to take a look at themselves if they wish for this financial ruin, mess, shyte show we currently have going on in this country to continue. Only the greedy will vote for them, the needy will sound out and put Labour back in charge!

It's not just in football that you can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.......Boris Johnson could have been PM for the next 15 years from 2019 if he had played his cards right.Hubris is the downfall of all egotists! The Tories cannot help themselves with regards to self implosion....it is in their DNA.Labour offer nothing either other fair weather rhetoric and no definitive policy moving forward. This country has a habit regarding elections by zigging when it should be zagging and zagging when it should be zigging and I see the same happening on the 4th of July.Be careful for what you wish for!

It's a Conservative country because they win more elections than Labour , in my lifetime only two Labour PM's have been elected , Harold Wilson and Tony Blair and I'm 62 .

I know exactly what the Tories are Brin my point was don't be thinking the Labour Party are going to be the answer to the country's problems .

The Labour Party is the party of big business and globalisation just as the Tories are , the only differential is how they manage that , better than the Tories or worse .

The country had the opportunity for change in 2017 and 2019 and didn't much like the look of it .

Once you understand what the Labour Party has to become in order to become elected you can't be disappointed .

    Unfortunately many will be .
