I have always felt totally indifferent to Scotland and what they might or might not achieve. It might be different for others but there you go.

Mmm, I get your sentiment. I don’t exactly cheer for Denmark and Norway (if they had participated). But, would have cheered for Finland and Iceland (had they participated).

I’d cheer for Sweden ahead of almost any other nation mate but I like to see Scotland and Wales get smashed.

Their fans are all w anchors.

I will be cheering on the Scots, they’re British and that is good enough for me. The hate thing is a two way thing mainly adopted by the, how can I put this, the less sporting of those who adopt that view. I have spent much time with Scottish supporters, the banter has always been good.

I can also vouch that many of the English fans have an equal hatred of the Scots as indicated on here other media sites. It’s only a game after all, just a game, not life and death.

I am certainly not deluding myself. I know of Scots who are not anti English equally as some English are not anti Scottish. For me we are British and I would stand shoulder to shoulder with any person of the other three nations should it be required. As I say, it is just a game at the end of the day.

I’ll save my hatred for others more deserving rather than our own.

Most Scots wouldn’t want us superior English patting them on the head and wishing them well, it’s exactly that sort of attitude that makes them dislike us in the first place.

I spend a lot of time in Wales and when we play rugby it’s an “anyone other than England” when we play.

They despise us.

But some of ours pat them on the head even so.

Andy Murray is one Scotsman.

I tend to get along with most people no matter what nationality and enjoy the sporting spectacle. At six foot six tall, I could pat people on the head but tend not to. no matter who they are or where they come from.

I warmed to the Scots when the SNP said they would welcome immigration. So let’s send every illegal to Scotland that arrives to our shores and spread the love from England! It would be very cultural to see all these Syrians/Albanians etc wearing tartan skirts eating s hite like Haggis!
