Knowing the way the t1t wigglers screwed up the Grant sacking. The first one that is, not the one at the end of the season, they're probably waiting to see who gets the tin tack between now and 10 days time.
Martin Jol is a Xmas version of Avram Grant,
as for Laudrup, brilliant player that he was, a rich mans Zola.

That is my take on them too. Not sure what to make poyet, we need a steady hand till the Olympic stadium move, would not put poyet in that mould.Originally Posted by dagenhamJohn

To be fair whatever decision the board make will be a gamble. No guarantee that Allerdyce could continue with his track record of survival and any alternative is still a massive gamble. However, the Poyet option does have some appeal to me.
He is charismatic and likeable and having played at the highest level would have the immediate respect of his players. Whilst he might have been a tad lucky in some matches in Sunderland's great escape he really got them playing.
I also believe that any incoming manager would need to be able to invest substantially in the squad and that he would have the required image to attract players to the club, a trait that Allerdyce is missing IMHO.
If Allardyce goes and Poyet comes in it would be a big step in the right direction imo. Poyet wouldn't be my first choice but he's an experienced manager with a decent track record.
Sad thing for me is I was listening to Talk Sport the other day and some bloke came on and said he's never accept Poyet because "he kissed the badges of Chelsea and Spurs". Now I reckon kissing a badge, any badge, should be a f_ucking hanging offence, but to refuse to consider the bloke because of his previous employers is the height of stupidity imo.

It's just logic though Whisky.
the world has got a lot of really clever people in it - the likes of Hawking et al.
Now, for "average intelligence" to mean someone like you, me and the rest of what would be considered "normal", then to counterbalance the extreme brilliance of Mr. Hawking and his peers, there simply must be a few severely dim people.
One of them seems to have worked out how to use the phone.
Which is a forward step I guess.
