Aye I can imagine what Saltcoats is like now but great memories there at Sandylands in the school hols and used to see Bobby Lennox running on the beach wae his dug!

I had a couple of family holidays in Saltcoats as a wean. Sandylands and a caravan. Happy days.![]()
Aye I kicked a ba aboot on Saltcoats Vic ground wae my granddad and Lennox...all with the smell of the nearby abattoir in the Ayrshire air...happy days.
I always felt sorry for the unsuspecting families who had travelled for hours and spent their hard earned cash on a holiday park that sat next door to an abattoir.![]()
My favourite places in Scotland are Edinburgh, Glen Coe, Glen Nevis & some of the mountains away up on the North Coast, some folk are completely unaware of what a beautiful country we live in.
