re: Home games are now the key.

I'm new to these boards, well new to posting, but I have been reading many posts.
I find your posts particularly interesting, Steve Mclaren has done a fantastic job for the Rams, and has obviously taken them to the next level. Something Nigel could not do. Our recent form has been tremendous apart from the recent wobble.
It would be great to see the board actually give Mclarem some real cash to spend to try and get us into the top two! We r short in some areas and I'm worried that the goals may now dry up! Let's hope not!
I think the Brighton game is very important and will probably show if we are true contenders!

Rattea do me a favour and stop being negative, not sure why you love Nigel so much, maybe your simply a WUM, if that's the case it's a pity as you are quite articulate in your posts!

I believe the major problem at DCFC is the lack of transfer funds provided by the board, if Brian Clough was in charge he would be demanding cash for the final push!
    We r so close!

YOu are looking at the league table and points left to right. I am looking top to bottom.

Of cource a complete change and an mixture all over would have an effect to. I just think were are a top mid table team and had some luck. will need more luck to get in the play offs. But then what?
Another win against a team in the bottom 18.

( these weren't a top six side cause by the time Bamford scored Reading had already replaced them )

    1 down 7 to go.

Good win yesterday, Blackburn will be reeling after losing to Forest, but I feel they are out of sorts at the moment, and might have impending transfer stuff knocking them of their stride. Next up at home is Yeovil, so I would happily take 4 points. Then Brum away, who are in poor form, followed by QPR at home, again another 4 points, with an away win and a point from QPR.

Getting tougher and some clubs are finding good form, including Forest and Reading. Good to have a near strength full squad to choose from, but compared to most teams in the top 8, we still are a tad thin.

I worry about the Blackburn game. Like Leicester they've been somewhat of a bogey team for us of late. They're a physical side and we seem to struggle with them types of teams.

Agree with this. If we keep picking up points against the teams below us then we will do well. As other teams will slip up.

I perhaps would have agreed about Blackburn a few weeks ago, but I think another unsettling transfer period beckons for them, and we could possibly win it, though a point would still be a good return.

We have been mocked to a degree about not being able to beat a top 6 side, but in all fairness, the top 8 sides all have far superior budgets, squads and most have been in the Prem with trumped up teams in the last 2 or 3 seasons, so these games are going to be tough. However we are beating the bottom clubs, and taking all our points, something a lot of the top teams cant seem to do regularly. Also worth remembering we have beaten a few teams like Brighton and Watford, who are in the mix too.

Blackburn certainly like to get the ball in the box with Tommy Spurr the long throw specialist. All about defending the 2nd bal

Here's a good link Chilli, very much backs up your point. Check the form out against top half and see who's top? - view external link

Looking at the way the league is shaping up it looks as though March 22nd is gonna be massive!!!

Havent had a look at the next few Forest games, so no idea who you have, but I think the next 2 weeks off the pitch will be massive for Forest. IF you dont manage to bring in anyone, what will BD do? I saw an interview with Fawaz and he said as a supporter he wants a striker, but he is leaving total control to the manager. Will be interesting.

I think actually the same could be said for QPR too. If Redknapp doesnt get anyone in, will they struggle?

For me, we have a decent team and just lack a bit of depth, we have some winnable games both home and away, and provided we dont lose anyone to injury, we should maintain. Someone else said it best on another post/thread. For us to lose out on a playoff place would take a catastrophe!
