Gibraltar should be returned to Spain despite the fact that people who live there wish to remain a British overseas territory?
How undemocratic.

Gibraltar should be returned to Spain. It has no strategic value to England in this day and age and is nothing more than a national liability.
To inject a dose of reality back into this thread, there's no team in Europe that can't hammer Scotland. Scotland is the slap dawg of Europe -- for EVERYBODY ELSE.
Wouldn't be surprised if Gibraltar gave Scotland a right good hammering.

Democracy is not a temple at which we should all worship. It is not the be all and end all of everything.
Give Spain back Gibraltar. Let the Gibraltaranians either stay or move to England.
Even better, sell it back to Spain and make a few dollars out of the deal![]()
Croatia couldn't hammer Scotland. And they had two goes at it.Originally Posted by just_joe

Beat it trumpet.
surely if gibralter are drawn with spain they have to go ahead with it.
you cant have 1 or 2 teams picking who they play or dont play while the rest take who they get, if its a problem for gibralter they should fek off.
wonder if any other nation isnt allowed to be drawn against another for political reasons.
another rant, see people who call gibralter gib, they do my fekin t1ts in, and if they were irish aswell it would make me ragin aswell.
Israel obviously don't play against any Arab countries in qualifiers and I'm sure Russia and Georgia are going to be kept apart in the Euro draw due to tensions there. Club sides also don't play against others from the same country in the Champions League till about the last 8!
with the cl, the rule applies to all clubs not just a select few due to political tensions.
where do you draw the line,
israel dont play arab countries as they are in a different continent regarding qualifiers.
if countries cant get on with 1 another why be in a football tournament with each other, what if 2 countries who dont get on meet in a quarter final or worse the final.
Why do you think they're in different qualifying areas? And yeah, the CL thing is not national politics, but it shows they can do anything they want.
