Absolute nonsense.
go on then who was better, certainly not the headless chicken lego eater broonaldinhio
Paul Lambert, by a country mile.
Come on Danny, Lambert was extremely lucky to get signed by Dortmund. The manager (Hitzfeld?) even said he was extremely limited and brought there to do one job and one job only.
I'll maybe give you a nod if you can point out some bits of play or even whole games that Lambert lit up? I dont think there are any. He was a worker and thats about it.

On the other hand Ferguson was mega for Rangers while a youngster in Europe, he scored a great goal against cellick in the Cup Fina

    I agree with ITB here,

admittedly i never watched celtic or dortmund enough to judge lambert highly enough and honestly cant remember stand out performances for scotland or against rangers either.

but fergie was stand outs in OF games, Europe and scotland games, as well as the gamesITB pointed out

he was immense in the scotland games against italy at hampden, (the year we nearly qualified) and the game in the san siro where Pirlo scored 2 free kicks.

John Collins was a much better midfielder than Barry Ferguson in fact I could count the number of good games Ferguson had in a Scotland shirt in one hand ... too numerous times he was posted missing in a Scotland shirt

McAlister was a smashing midfielder just look what he did for that Liverpool team that couldn't win a trophy til his arrival at the club and reverted back to character when he left

Barry Ferguson's skills (or lack there of) in managing aren't even worth discussing.

    He's a complete managerial nomark.

And anyone who suggests he's the "best midfielder in Scotland in the last 20 years" needs a new brain.

There have been many better midfielders over the last 20 years, the most notable, and far and away the best of which, is Celtic's own Paul McStay, who is arguably the best midfielder ever to play in the Scottish leagues!
