From where I'm sitting (in deepest Merrie England) the winner of this vote will be whichever side delivers a knockout blow just before polling day, and I can't help feeling Salmond is cooking something up for that day as we speak.
From my own perspective I believe in the UK and will be sorry to see Scotland leave what has been a unique partnership of nations, but we will see!

Because (a) I don't think economically it will be of much consequence to the average punter in the street (in England or Scotland), but ( b ) I have an emotional attachment to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I believe that together we have achieved a hell of a lot and still punch above our weight. Apart we will be diminished. Might be a load of tripe but it's what I believe in and I will be genuinely sad if the vote is 'yes'.

Sadly it seems the Scottish people just dont have the courage or belief for Independence. They prefer the security and status quo of dependence and the luxury of blaming the english govt for their problems. When you govern yourself it takes away that luxury.
