Not having a dig Jim, but ...
if he plays long enough, he will score more goals than Alan Shearer in the premiership
Congratulations for what, exactley ?
hard to compare as CC has played upfront on his own and thats not just under BFS
compare him with Cottee or others and they always played upfront in a pair so he has played on his own with a struggling team backing him up..not saying it would have been different for him but just something that always annoys me..would love to see rooney upfront on his own in our team then you can get some kind of level playing field
WHU f uck the rest

A celebration of the teams mediocrity in recent years is our Carlton.
i'm a big fan of carlton's ... no i haven't gone mad , he's still not really that good
i'm sure one day ( the way some sing his praises ) he'll have a statue too
FFS. Have you all taken leave of your senses??
Carlton Cole, West Ham goal machine???
The bloke is one of the most frustrating strikers to have ever played in the EPL.
He has no consistency and to my knowledge, has never had a goalscoring run like Sturridge or Suarez or Crouch etc.
He is upto Premier League standard but that is all that can be said. Unexceptional but hardworking and loyal. A decent bloke but not deserving of any accolades the likes of which some on here are heaping on him.
Sorry Amer but i will praise him because facts are facts. 25 years and top of our goalscoring chart is Calrton Cole.
16th all time, 2 away from being 15th. Ratio of 1 in 4.
Is he great, hell no, is he frustrating, hell yes. Is he a great bloke off the field, yes, has he done a decent job in his time with us, yes.
He deserves some praise.
But we're West Ham, Jimmy! We're used to having strikers who score 30 goals a season Carlton isn't good enough!Originally Posted by JimmyV66

He has, nor never will have, a goalscoring run like Sturridge or Suarez---nor Cottee. He is not a striker in the accepted (goal scoring) sense.Originally Posted by SuperIrons
His goal scoring record compares favourably with players who perform a similar role. Including Mr Carroll incidentally.
Not the greatest footballer in the world, we all know that. But not deserving of a lot of the crap that gets thrown his way.
And maybe we should remember we are West Ham. We do
