    A chip steak is cheap beef steak in batter and a mock chop is mystery meat in batter.

    To answer your question, a mock chop is sawdust, bits of newspaper and gristle formed into a chop shape and deep fried in batter. A chip steak is similar, a different shape and with added fingernails.

    I dinna, no. I avoid chippers as a rule, apart fae the odd haddock supper with pickled onions.
