Going by attendances it seems to be doing fine, sadly like many other leagues the money talks, here in Scotland there is a wee bit of hype about two leagues, most supporters can see thru it though ;

To be honest I feel like this season is the first time in a good few years it is actually living up to the hype, due to the fact there are 4-5 clubs playing well and in contention, compared to the usual one or two. As a league, it was always going to be 'over-hyped' once it got into bed with a commercial broadcaster.

I think it's been the best in years, there has been some fantastic fitba played by Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Aguero, Saurez, Hazzard, Corzola are all a joy to watch
