They are part time and play in the 2nd tier. Dholly should beat them easily.

Of course we should win, and I think we will, but this idea that it's a bit of a gimme is misplaced.

I've been following their results since Murray took over. He saved them from near-certain relegation and now had them within a bawhair of the playoffs. They could be in the Premiership next season. They score goals and have a few players with top flight credentials. It's not a gimme like Albion would have been.

Agreed. It's the kind of game where we could come unstuck and should be approached with caution.

Why? It's not as if Dholly have struggled in the past against lower league...

    Oh, wait a minute...

I just don't think many have realised the improvements Dumbarton have made in recent years. It wasn't that long ago they were lingering in the bottom division. They then managed to get into the Championship but were struggling. Don't think anyone would have been too surprised at that. But they're 5th now and have several decent players who have played top flight football in their team. Sure, we should see them off, but we can't afford to be complacent. Dumbarton are a capable side and enjoying their best team and performances in decades.

Could be worse, we could have shipped 7 (seven) at home and been papped out months ago... And then followed it up by getting pumped by 9 men in the other cup with a final spot in your grasp.

The current Rangers team isn't good enough to win the SC imo.
    Hope I'm proved wrong.

Why do you say that? It's full of SPFL players and was assembled at a cost that the teams left in the competition could only dream about spending.

Because some of the players assembled at a cost other teams could only dream of are not good enough and are not worth the money they are being paid.
Also, even though the standard of SPFL football is not very good, the current Rangers squad would have to raise their game twice to win it. I'm not sure they are capable.

That and also taking into account the manager's previous record in cup competitions.
