Seriously though you cannot really compare them. Was Greaves better than Ball? One did ****** all for most of the game then popped up with 2 goals, the other ran and ran and created situations. Owen or Brooking. The list goes on.

There are only a few players that combine both skills and Ronaldo and Messi won't sign for us. It's also why Rooney has just signed his obscene 300k a week deal, to an extent. Creator or Executioner but there aren't many who can do both.

so, flawed question Mr A. Comparing chalk and cheese: I'd sooner eat chalk and write with cheese...
I have to deal in FACTs but someone has already bid and SPENT AŁ1.5m on bamford ... Yet nothing on Hughes. Or even a bid?

Two different players but many are commenting on how Hughes hasn't pushe

They're different types of player, Will controls the game whilst Patrick changes it, top teams need both types to be succesful.

    Completely agree.

Hughes controls games and makes it look so easy, when we take him out the midfield playing some of the lovely football we have played this year, vanishes (Birmingham away is a perfect example).

Bamford's all round play is bang average, but he's a goalscorer and that's a strikers job & can produce that bit of magic (Sheff Wed & Brighton).

Overall Hughes by far the better and more valuable player to me, controls games with ease, gets us playing most the neat stuff we play.
As Adi mentions top teams need both, but Bamford's more of a luxery player who's lovely to have when your doing well & can always pull something out the bag at anytime, but I wouldn't fancy having him in a struggling team.
