1st of all anyone who knows me knows i"m not ignorant or arrogant..i hate both.
It was mainly HOW he put it across.

I"d like to think when i get to a ripe old age and theres an 11 YR OLD MILLER ENJOYING HIMSELF...i"d actually give the lad his moment of excitement, after all i"d have seen it all over too many years and he"d be at the start of his Miller experience.
Also it wasn"t like he"d been blocking his view all game, it was the LAST 10 MINUTES!!
I could also say if you don"t want any chance of anyone standing in front of you ...SIT AT THE FRONT FFS.
If he had said it again i"d have POLITELY asked the gentleman to give my son the benefit, if he"d have been funny about it then no problem, i"d have sat in my sons seat and not stood up at all at an exciting few minutes and he could have had my seat.
Not all old folk are gents by the way, some are cantankerous old sods...i"m sure we know a few eh??

It's great that your son was enjoying the experience and getting so excited Bri, but as somebody who has taken my elderly grandfather to games, a man who has been watching the Millers since the 1930s, I really don't think its reasonable to obstruct the view of anyone for 10 minutes at the most exciting point of the game for the sake of your son 'having his moment', surely it wouldn't have distracted too much if you noticed him standing and had a fatherly word about the people behind him.
That said, it sounds like the man approached it completely the wrong way and a polite request would have been the best way he could have handled it. I just don't think there's any excuse for blocking somebody elses view considering that there are many people in the crowd for whom standing is difficult - I'm perfectly capable of standing but wouldn't want to because I'd be way too conscious of blocking the view of those behind me.

If only the older gent would have asked me 1st to have a word with my lad then i"d have been totally fine by it pal, i TOTALLY understand your point, i also have an 80 yr old dad myself an wouldn"t like it either.
But theres ways and means of asking ANYTHING isn"t there, it riled me how he just reached out to grab my son and shout "SIT DAARN".

Ive always taught my sons to say please and thank you, be respectful to their elders, i.e stand up for them on buses or at anytime when theres no seats spare..but, just because someone who is over 60 or so doesnt mean they can do no wrong either.
