    re: Worzels going into administration

Until now, 'getting through it' for the Worzels has just meant relegation and administration every year but this year it will mean relegation and closure. End of story.

In the past, they were always owned by spivs who knew wheeler dealer managers like Redknapp and Grant and had crooked lawyers to bale them out of trouble when the sh!t hit the fan but now they are being led by a bunch of clueless amateurs like teacher Colin Farmery, who is their 'spokesman' and Buddhist meditater Micah Hall, always too incapacitated by stress to actually do any work, who have appointed a CEO who failed at Bury and a manager who failed at Crawley. How was that ever going to work?

How different it all might have been had some of the billion or so that was rinsed through the club during the five minutes of dining at the top table been put aside / re-invested for the future..[/quote]

Yeah it's sad. I almost wish i had boycotted those Wembley games and god forbid actually winning 3 more trophies then you lot.

Not in your lifetime you haven't but keep clinging to the one tainted one you did get because there is nothing else to show for all those years.

Anyway, back to the title. I imagine attendances will still look good (if not actually real) for the rest of this season because of ST sales when they were going to pi55 this league. Not sure relegation will make such a difference? Doubt the money coming in is much different anyway? Be interesting to see what the response is for ST's in the tip next year though.

It is actually a lot different. If they drop out of the Football League they will lose the majority of their income.

'Sad' - that's one way of describing it, I suppose..

In my lifetime of supporting Saints, I've enjoyed numerous trips to Wembley (and Cardiff), seeing my team pick up one FA Cup and one Football League Trophy along the way - great days every one, even the defeats.

Yet here we sit, comfortably ensconced mid-table in the Premier League with a squad packed full of internationals, an exciting and highly regarded manager, crowds of 30,000 enjoying some wonderful football at our UEFA 4* stadium, one of the most renowned and successful Academies in world football, a team of respected professionals at board level and an enthusiastic billionaire owner.

    Spot the difference..

    ...and the connection.

Win a trophy or two around the time of the war and disappear almost without trace for nearly 4 decades. Gain a tarnished trophy and disappear again for at least another 4 decades.

I know you are all wishing that Pompey get relegated and it is certainly looking like your wish may be granted. I have been watching Pompey for 65 years and never in my worst nightmare did I ever think we'd go out of the league.
However, if we do go down I think you will really miss us.
Bournemouth, Brighton, (or even Gosport) will never be the same.

Agree with this post but we could probably get along without the rivalry. In my 50 years supporting Saints, south coast derbies can be counted on both hands.

I won't miss you, nor will all other honest members of the football league. For your numerous crimes against the good of football, only liquidation is good enough for you.
