If you've a valid ticket of travel, then there is no prob.

Otherwise... cross by the Brunswick/Alexanra and go under the tracks

When I arrived at the station a large crowd of people had already built up at the ticket barriers on the footbridge. Suddenly everyone was let through and I'm guessing that this was done on Police instructions to alleviate the crush that was steadily building up.

The first couple of seasons after the footbridge extension was opened station staff would be present to check that people had valid rail tickets before letting them onto the footbridge after the game. This caused lengthy queues and often led to people like myself missing their trains. When I questioned this policy I was told that it was a safety issue and that the bridge had only been designed to carry a certain number of people across it at any time (I can't recall the exact number quoted but it was ridiculously low). When I tried

Really? You actually expected anything beyond a blank look to that kind of questioning?

That's like going into a Starbucks and asking the girl on the till to explain the companies last set of account!

The barriers could be at the top/bottom of the stairs leading to the platforms.

I've had a chat with my mate John and he said he doesn't mind picking you up Angry on his way to the IPro as long as you don't mind carrying his footy kit and boots.

I dont know what I'd do now but a few years ago I worked for a month quite close to the Pride Park ground. Come lunch time I got fed up with cheap nasty fast food outlets and took my own pack up. The trouble is that there isn't anywhere around the area to eat it and being a needer of fresh air occasionally I definitely didn't want to stop inside the office. So I used to walk to the station and have my lunch on one of the platform seats which is the only seating provided in the Pride Park area. Not a very nice area with a not very nice history.

Unless you just happen to walk in to the Starbucks where Rattea is doing a bit of moonlighting as a barista. Vente COMEDY GOLD with chocolate sprinkles.
