    That's ye olde arsectomy.

The Frank James Memorial Hospital in Cowes doesn't look like it's changed that much since I was last in there.

I think you have got your wires crossed (facts ass about face probably more appropriate). The Frank James dayn Cayes was designed as a memorial to Frank Linsly James, eldest son of Sophia and Daniel James. He did much travelling to Africa in his yacht The Lancashire Witch and was killed by an elephant in 1890. The wind vane on top of the hospital is a model of the yacht (not a lot of people know that). It was originally a home for Retired Seamen (note spelling!), before becoming a hospital in 1903, no suggestion that it was ever a vasectomy clinic!

I had my cartilage done there about '75. Cockroaches running about everywhere. Some geezer died noisily in the bed next to me in the night. It was like Scutari but without Flo Nightingale.

Fyi they DID do early vasectomies with a lump hammer and a blunt chisel.

Unlike vous - lying in bed and playing love games with Mary Five Fingers until midday.
