what would that equate to in the top flight? assuming he does carry the same form into next year (a big assumption, as many a player have tried and failed to make the step up), i would suggest that 8-10 goals would be about par, and that is if he starts every game.

that would be enough to pip nolan in terms of a goal return, but is it 4mil worth of 'pip'? i'd suggest no. (another assumption that they would be both vying for the same position, and their form remains constant.)

27 is too old if you are looking to start building a team, but it isn't too old if the sole objective is just to get to the olympic stadium no matter what. i think we all know where we are at on that one.

I heard about a week or so ago that we are interested in this Ciro Immobile (great!) fella from Torino, 18 goals in 28 games in Serie A. Think I read that Sam has been or will go to scout him.

24 years old, definitely the kind of player we should be looking at. That said A£10.5 million would surely be outta our price range and if he is that good then lots of other will be sniffing around.

I don't know the player but your value is most certainly not out of our price range, we've paid more than that for both Jarvis and Carroll. Sam gets about 20m per season judging by the last two summer windows and I'd expect the same this year.

Absolutely. If Allardyce said that he'd found a winger he wanted but would cost 10m + the board would probably say. . . .. "sounds like the conversation we had about Matt Jarvis, go and get someone on a free Sam"

As I wrote his stock has raised, expect the figure to be closer to A£15 million..Couple of the large German clubs are interested as well now.

True. But PdiC would still have been playing for one of Europe's really big clubs if it hadn't been for his reputation. He'd been playing at the top level well before he was 29

If McCormack was top drawer he'd have played top league football before now. Someone would have taken a punt. The fact no one has says it all for me.

    Morning,

Clearly a squad addition, there will be a big clearout this summer and the likes of Ross will be thought of an upgrade of what we are disposing of.

Judging by what I have already read on WHTID work is already underway on replacements.
