Everton have had a couple of setbacks of late. This is the best chance Liverpoo will have for years

Why did he play so attacking yesterday, a draw would have kept it in Liverpool's hands with two games to play, and with the pace of Sterling and Suarez and Coutinho and Gerrard able to ping a decent 40 yard pass that team was built for counter attacking.

    Instead, they phucked it.

I'd imagine it'd be pretty difficult to counter attack a team who had seven players camped on the edge of their box.

Liverpool should have kept the ball in their own half then. It might have made for a boring 90 mins, but there was absolutely no need for them to attack. For your holding midfielder to be one of the deepest players in the team just inside his own half is downright stupid.

Liverpool absolutely phucked it. Bottled it completely.

As I said earlier, we were undone by an individual error.

The fact that Gerrard spent the entire second half trying to make amends didn't help but I don't think there was much wrong tactically.

Going in 0-0 would have been fine as Chelsea would have attacked more as they needed a win.
Soon as Gerrard slipped we were never getting back in it, as they didn't need to chase the game
Couldn't watch Chelsea every week though
Big Sam/ pullis ect park the bus, Maureen tactical genius

Why were your centre halfs playing so far apart in such an important game, especially when Liverpool didn't need the win? It was daft playing so offensive, and it's came back to bite Rodgers on the erse.

I like Brendan, but playing like that has probably cost him the best chance he'll ever have with Liverpool to win the league.

If Stevie hadn't have slipped then no one would have been commenting on the centre half's positioning today. It was just one of those things. His tactics have gotten us to the top of the league against two teams who have spent far more than us, he's doing ok & he's learning all the time.
